I agree, how does 5 days sound as the maximum amount of time? Remeber that as soon as the question is correctly answered, the other team can ask straight away, which is why it might be good to keep some questions in mind/prepared, Insha'Allah.

WHos Goin to ask the Question To the Mods ???

Any Members can akhee, why don't you give it a go?

JazakAllah Khayr! :w: :)

Selam aleykum!

I'm always so shy to ask, although I love that thread. :-[ Back then I was a brave mod who asked.. Not. I was shy then too. :phew

The Face-Off thread scares me, all have such complicated questions and then I'd come with something as simple as "Who's Islam's last Prophet?" :skeleton: Embarrassing.

Please someone ask a question, that thread is beneficial and should be kept alive, inshaAllah!

:wasalamex

I was hoping we could change it to 3 days maximum. But maybe it is better that we leave it at 5 days for now and see how the game goes insha'Allaah.

:sl:

Masha'Allah, just need to ask in this thread Insha'Allah :)

I think 3 Days maybe too less, a lot of the admins and staff unfortunately can not be too active, so 5 days maybe better, Insha'Allah :)

Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani al-Maliki
Ibn Abd al-Barr

Ibn Rushd
Yahya ibn Yahya al-Laythi
Ibn Khaldun
Abu Al-Walid Al-Baji

The clock is ticking, my fellow Members! Hasn't anybody else got any more suggestions, inshaAllah?

Well, how I understood the question, we are to choose 2 from Andalus and 2 from Maghreb.. I can't really say who are the 4 most famous scholars of the Maliki school, subhanAllah, there are many!

But I'll go with these four inshaAllah. Is that OK?

Ibn Abd al-Barr - Andalusia
Ibn Rushd - Andalusia
al-Wansharisi - Maghreb
Ibn Khaldun - Maghreb

Ibn Rushd is known world-wide. I wanted to use al-Qayrawani first, I think I'll go for it then, inshaAllah. Now it's 3 scholars from Maghreb region and one from Andalusia.

go for it sis :) dey seem right

InshaAllah.. lol Don't beat me up if it's wrong! :phew

wa 'alaikum salaam wa rahmatullaah wa barakaatuh,

^ 2 of the 4 names are correct:

Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani (d.386H) - Maghreb
Ibn 'Abd al-Barr (d.463H) - Andalusia

Still looking for 2 more names...

:thumbs_up Yay! 2 more to go, we've got 2 more chances to answer left.

Maybe it was Ibn Rushd? Yahya ibn Yahya al-Laythi is also very important but... Now someone else has to answer!

I'm really curious to know the right answer.

Shall I do This Then???

Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani (d.386H) - Maghreb
Ibn 'Abd al-Barr (d.463H) - Andalusia
Ibn Rushd
Yahya ibn Yahya al-Laythi.

:sl:

I think no for Ibn Rushd because I think he was an Ashari? And yes for al-Laythi because al-Laythi took the Muwatta right from Imaam Malik, therefore, he would have the same Aqeedah as him as well?
