I think my hifz experiences wont make much sense if I don’t tell the whole scenario,so to convey the full meaning(ie what I actually mean),I will tell the whole history and you will have to bear a long post.lol
As for my experience, the motivation was not quite right initially, but Alhamdulillah it became more meaningful with time. I first started thinking about hifz when i was around 8,mainly because my bro(two years younger than me) had joined a madrasah where he was to do hifz(my mother was very eager to make him a hafiz),and he had become a celebrity in the family...As

Mashallah, may Allah reward you immensely for this post. It actually did clear a lot of doubts I had but a doubt still remains in my mind. I'm in college and almost 8 hours of my day are spent there and so I was thinking whether I'll be able to complete it. I know, InshAllah that I can complete Hifz but I wonder how long it'll take at that pace. I was told 3 years (if full time) and so with my schedule it may take, who knows, 5-6 years.
And I also don't want to get in to Ar-Riya (the minor shirk) because whenever I think about memorizing the Qur'an, the thoughts of the fame and respect that one gets for doing it comes to my head and I get really scared about what my intentions actually are. And recently, I found this hadeeth that turned me upside-down. I was shattered and smashed after reading it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Most of the hypocrites of my ummah are among those who have memorized Qur'an.”
I keep asking the Hafiz who lives nearby a lot of questions about Hifz but I am not actually starting it. imsad Make dua for me for pure intentions and guidance and super memory.:exhausted
