Be*tween You and the One in the Grave

It is re*ported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrī – Allāh have mercy on him – once said dur*ing the fu*neral of a man:
May Allāh have mercy on the man who works for the likes of this day; for today you are able to do what these broth*ers of yours, the res*i*dents of these graves, can*not do. So make full use of your health and free time be*fore the day of dis*tress and ac*counts comes upon you.
Ibn Abī Al-Dunyā, Dhamm Al-Dunyā ar*ti*cle 53.

We know it. Yes, we know it. Are we seriously doing anything about it?

Ya Allah, forgive our weakness in paying heed of this message and guide us to always prepare for that moment.
