The imams have the same position as Muhammed (S.A.W)?

H 708, Ch. 53, h 7
A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from ‘Abdallah ibn Bahr from ibn Muskan from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu ‘Abdallah from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said that he heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say the following. "The Imams (a.s.) possess the position of the Messenger of Allah except that they are not prophets and the number of wives permissible for the Holy Prophet is not permissible for them. In the aspects other than these they possess the same positions as the Messenger of Allah did."

:salam:

You probably got that from Shia sources, as there is nothing as such in actual Islam.

Why this hadith doesn't make sense:
- it talks about imams as (aleyhisselam) as if they were prophets
- it doesn't specify which imams. All imams? or just the 12 from shia?
- if all imams: everybody can be an imam. so to give everyone the position of Muhammed sas?
- if only the 12: probably shia source

I've found the hadith. It comes from shiavault:

Hadeeth collection Al Kafi chapter 53

Definitely a Shia source
