It does seem to be something would expect to find in Jewish Kabala. But, please do not let them upset you except for the fact they are leading your relative astray. But they have no power of any form. However, the one with ayyats could be considered sacrilegious if not blasphemous for the way it is being misused.
If my relative is doing this sin cos she's following the imam's advice who says this will cure her of her problem will she be held accountable? It's not just my mum, these imams have thousands of people who attend their masjids on weekly basis for jummah. And they're seen as good knowledgeable Imams.
Do you think she will be held accountable?

this is what she says"so what these knowledgeable imams and all the people who follow them have got it wrong have they? this is just a different school of thought 2 yours"
