Consensus of Scholars?

If a Muslim follows the consensus of scholars rather than their own better judgment and common sense from their own direct guidance from prayer, devotion to Allah that is the source of all Truth, how is that not shirk?

I'm sure your not old enough to ask the question.

And you can see what sort of answers your getting.

So you have to decide if your going to invite answers you would not like or ask questions that lead to better answers.

...I don't know what sort of questions you ask?

I don't particularly disagree with what you have said..

But it's not one question.

I cant even go to the shops without bumping into people I know... its horrendous...
It was never like this before.

I thought that was shirk. o_O the evil eye, or God knows what else.

But in the end, Allah swt raises and lowers as he wills.

...I don't know why I told you that.

A better example would be a work environment.

Work colleagues, shift managers, duty managers, team leaders, drivers, security, admin, hr, customers, the public... and all that sort of stuff..

You cant really go against authority until you offer something on the same level at least but at least the goal is clear..

Hope that helps. Lol

And even then your not going against authority, your just trying to replace it..

Unfortunately somewhere along the line I lost my harshness.. and became thick.

We are all things to all people I suppose.

I struggle to believe if Islam is mans instinctive natural state of being, all harmonic sounds, laughter, joy and pleasure is a sin...I just see so many depressed people on these forums, why?

Non of the above are sins intrinsically although I would advice you to do your own research on this topic about what different scholars throughout history said about it. You wont find it on this forum as this forum is very restrictive on what is allowed to be said as i'm sure you Know. - furthermore this forum is a salafi leaning forum so its the reason why you get specific responses but all I'm going to say is that you should try to find people that will give you a balanced view which sometimes isn't found on forums but real people that show compassion and wisdom.

And like to add, a comment i forgot to add to Zaffrans reply, blessed are we in this day and age to have every hadith Sunna and holy book at our fingertips where we can search word by word through many thousands of pages, read every history of the entire age in easy to find place so easy we don't need to leave our chair, its mind boggling the tools available to seekers of Truth...Allahmdullaha

having pure information at your fingertips isnt enough to understand deeper wisdom which cannot be found on the forums or the internet. Hadiths on there own are no good unless one knows what context and what principles are reasonable in applying them and understanding them which one learns through fiqh and talking to real people. Hope the journey is good a one and God preserve you.

I did not know forums did not have real people.

What news.

Do you think the pious don't sin?

They merely:
Veiled themselves and didn't flaunt it
Sought forgiveness and didn't persist
Took ownership of it and don't justify it
And acted with excellence after they had erred - Ibn al-Qayyim

I soooo want to laminate this and put it on the wall and try to practice to become a pious! I will put it in bullet points and I want to practice and master it every month until death takes me!!

Sadly that point "And acted with excellence after they had erred..." <--- will breed jealousy, resentments, hatred, etc because people will have this evil thought...OH SO YOU THINK YOU ARE SUPERIOR over me? Will work hard to destroy that person and cause them to err when they find that the person is seeking excellence. Better not mention it, better look simple in public area and not show to people around you that you act in excellence.
