Considering reverting

I was telling a scholar on the phone that if I ever do revert, I do not want there to be any doubt at all in my mind. I still have some doubts, like with Sura 9:30/31 (we do not hold anybody to be the son of God, nor do we hold our priests as partners of God, any Jew who'd think that way is/was committing a very serious act of blasphemy) and I believe that God loves all mankind and allows them into Jannah based on their own merits, not just religious practices. Now, do not take this as criticism of Islam, but of certain religious leaders in general. People in power can use religion and manipulate it to their advantage. Examples include the Christian crusaders, certain Jewish leaders in history, and the Saudi royalty, the Taliban, and Ruhollah Khomeini in Islam. This is a reason why I am reluctant to stick a religious label to myself.
my dear brother you are not sticking a label on yourself by being muslim. keep on telling yourself that you are looking for the truth. take everything else out of your mind and concentrate on that one thing finding the truth thats all that matters. every scripture was sent down to mankind since the very start of time.

Allah has revealed his books to various prophets for the guidance of there nations. the big books are called kitaabs whilst the small ones are called sahifas

the four main books that were revealed are:

touraat
Zaboor
INJEEL
holy quran

the touraat old testament was given to hazrat mosa Alayis salaam
the zaboor (pslams) were given to hazrat dawood Alayis salaam
The injeel new testement was given to hazra esaa(jesus) Alayis salaam.
The holy quran the final book of Allah was revealed to hazrat muhammad mustafa sallallaho Alayis wa salaam.

besides these there were many more smaller kitaabs revealed

10 sahifas were revealed to hazrat Adam Alayis salamm

50 sahifas were revealed to hazrat shees Alayis salaam

30 Sahifas were revealed to hazrat idris Alayis salam

Between 10 and 30 sahifas were revealed to hazrat ebrahim Alayis salaam pbuh

aLL the othe books besides the holy quran were revealed at once

all the other books are no more in their ORIGINAL FORM. changes and alterations and additions have been made to them

Allah has promised to safeguard the text of the holy quran which is miraculous

the holy quran is the final book of Allah. it is still pure, clear and free from any change or alteration.

Brother i sincerely hope and pray Allah guides you and your always welcome to pm me if you have any questions which is bothering but media will be media at the end of the day and they will always spread lies

Taliban is another topic which i wont get in to. if you ask me taliban is america.

This can be generalized to any religion : If you try to understand a religion, don't look at what leaders or adherant of that religion do or say, but you should seek the origin of that religion : I mean the rules and the recommandations of that religion the way God fixed trough the message brought by prophets. If you try to understand Islam, it's not a good idea to observe what ordinary muslims are doing now, but you should read the source of islamic rules in the qur'an and sunnah as explained by scholars.
Let's take an example: if you are visiting a country were people are not really disciplined, and the government makes a new law : "NO-SMOKING IN HOSPITALS", but you don't know about this law, and you visit that country to see a friend in hospital, and you decide to smoke a cigaret but you don't know if it's permitted (legally.. let's forget about morals now), so you decide to look at the people to see if they are used to smoke there, and you find they smoke in the hospital. If you follow them you will be against the law because you didn't get the information from the right source (the laws book, the code..) but you get it from people practicing the laws probably incorrectly.
Yes it's good to know about a religion from ordinary adherents, but once you want to know the truth about that religion you must find the right source.

Salaam/Peace

we do not hold anybody to be the son of God,

may be , today's Jews are not repeating this mistake but Jews in the past had such belief . Prophet Muhammed pbuh asked a group of Jews about the reason . They said , Ezra pbuh remember the whole Torah when it was lost ; so they believe he was the not the ordinary one but son of God . Then Prophet Muhammed pbuh asked if they give such high status to Ezra pbuh just to recall it , then what should be the status of Musa/ Moses pbuh to whom Torah was revealed ?

nor do we hold our priests as partners of God,

if u don't follow ur holy book properly and listen to those who gives verdict that goes aginast ur book , then it is considered as a major sin . It means u are disobeying God and giving more importance on human .

During the time of the last Prophet , adultery charge was brought against a Jewish man and woman . When Prophet asked Jews what's the punishment according to their holy book , they tried to hide the truth . It's only one example how jews did not follow their book.

And Allah knows Best.

@ Brother Boaz:
Sholam alay kum!

The whole concept of Islam makes sense. Full devotion to God and to your fellow human beings, a life of hard work and humility, family, and peace and harmony between others.
Glory to ALLAH that you see the truth in it!

But there is one thing that is holding me back. "La illaha illaAllah" that part I can accept, but the second part is holding me back. "Muhammad rasul-Allah." The prophets are held in such reverence, but I'm not saying Muhammad was a bad person. He was a human like you and me, and humans make mistakes.

Brother you are right that all Messengers were humans; led normal lives and were mortal. But they WERE distinct from ordinary men! These Prophets were chosen by Allah. They had a specially ordained divine mission and the torture and persecution they faced in their mission; it bring tears in the eyes all the time when you read about it. May Allah’s mercy be upon them all! These Prophets enjoyed special Protection from God in the form of Prophetic signs.

Brother when you’ll read about the sacrifices these Great Prophets made, the patience they observed in the face of sufferings; their firmness and steadfastness; then you’ll too admit that these Prophets were not just humans! They were far above us!

It’s a humble request from a sister that please read Sahih Bukhari. (It is a hadith book containing all authentic ahadith.) Then you’ll have inshAllah a better picture. You’ll get to know HOW these Prophets, like our Prophet Muhammad :arabic5: , were par excellence.

Our Prophet Muhammad:arabic5: was known as Al-Saadiq and Al-Ameen , (the most truthful, the most trustworthy) and do you know by whom? By his own ENEMIES! Now what else can describe his virtues better than these titles given to him by the foes?! And he faced so much persecution. Incident of Taif is waAllah a clear witness to his patience, humility and mercy! Allah said in Quran that He has made Muhammad :arabic5: a mercy for all the worlds! And the verses of the Quran you’ll see, comes to life; the very words proven true, in this incident

He went to Taif to call people to Allah’s way. But these ignorant people hurled abuses at him, threw stones at him and injured him to such an extent that his shoes were filled with his blood! Allah sent angel Gabriel to him and the angel asked the Prophet to make dua to Allah to destroy the people of Taif by crushing them in between the two mountains. But no! He :arabic5: won’t. HE WAS A MERCY FOR ALL THE WORLDS!!! Instead, he PRAYED to Allah to make the next generations of Taif righteous. (May Allah’s blessings, mercy and love be upon our Mustafa!)

And this is just one incident brother. If you’ll read Sahih Bukhari, you’ll find many other such glorious examples. You can read his biography books of which the links have already been provided to you by my brothers and sisters.

I believe God lets you live your life, and when you die He judges you based on your actions. If there is more good than bad, you'll go to Jannah, if it's the other way around you'll go to Hell.

Dear brother, Allah guides us THROUGH these Messengers. These Messengers are a way, a truth and a light for us. They are the channels through which God communicates with humans as He never comes directly to speak with us. If it was not for these Prophets, then how could people have known which act was good and which bad?! These Prophets taught us the right way. They were our teachers and students always adore their teachers! Believing in the Prophet means that we accept everything he says to us and that we’ll try our best to obey Allah and his Messenger.

Allah says in Quran in Chapter 4 Verse 59:

“O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger…”

So we fulfill God’s commandment in this way by accepting Muhamaad :arabic5: as our Mesiah, our truth, our light!

But I think that my reply is not much satisfactory. But as I see that many of my Muslim brothers and sisters have replied to you, so maybe this point has already been clarified.

I feel immense joy because you are thinking of reverting back to the true faith, the religion of Allah! And if you succeed in it, then Allahu Akbar! What a great honor you’ll have! InshAllah! Do you know, you’ll then be among those people, inshAllah, who have a special mentioning in the Quran?! What a great honour!!! :statisfie

Allah says in Quran in Chapter 3, Verses 113-115:

“Not all of them are alike: of the people of the Book are a portion that stand (for the right); they rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.

They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: they are in the ranks of the righteous.

Of the good that they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for Allah knoweth well those that do right.”

SUBHAN ALLAH!

O dear brother, I pray that may you be among these blessed and righteous people! These people who adore the Creator of the heavens and earth! These beloved humans who are true to their words! Who bow down to Allah in humility for He is the Lord; the Most Gracious, the Most High!

My prayers will be with you! May Allah open your heart! Ameen!
