Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم has compared jealousy to fire that reduces firm, strong and solid wood to lifeless ashes.

He صلي الله عليه و سلم said:

"Beware of jealousy, for verily it destroys good deeds the way fire destroys wood." (Abu Dawud)

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr (رضي الله عنه):


The Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم) said,

"Whoever has the following
four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the
following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy
unless and until he gives it up.


1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays.


2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.


3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous.


4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting
manner."

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported that

Rasulullah صلي الله عليه و سلم said,

“Actions are presented every Monday and Thursday, and Allah then forgives every man who does not associate anything with Him, except for a man who has rancour for his brother. Allah says, “Wait until these two make it up!”(Then only will they be forgiven)

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (رضي الله عنه) reports that

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) advised him the following:

*“Be punctual with the recitation of the Qur’an and remembrance of Allah, it will be a means of you being remembered in the heavens and it will be a light for you on this earth.”*(Bayhaqi, Hadith #: 242/4)

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that

Rasullullah صلي الله عليه و سلم said:*

The five times Salah and the prayer of Friday to Friday, and the fasting of Ramadan to Ramadan, are atonements for sins that have been committed between them, provided the sinner avoids major sins. (Muslim).

Five questions on the Day of Qiyaamah

Narrated by Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas'ood رضي الله عنه
*
Rasulullaah صلي الله عليه و سلم said that no person will be able to take a step on the Day of Qiyaamah without answering five questions;

(1) about his life and how he spent it,
(2) about his youth and how he spent it,
(3) about how he earned his wealth,
(4) about how he spent it and
(5) how he utilised the knowledge he possessed.

Jaabir رضي الله عنه narrates

Rasulullaah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) said,

“Abstain from oppression because it will be a source of a multitude of darkness on the Day of Qiyaamah. Abstain also from miserliness because this had destroyed the people before you when it led them to spill the blood of each other and regard what is Haraam and Halaal.”(مسلم)

Sayyiduna Thawbaan (Radhiyallahu Anhu)*reported: When the verses about gold and silver were revealed, people asked, “What kind of wealth should we acquire?”*

Sayyiduna*Umar*(Radhiyallahu Anhu)*said,

“I will find out for you.” He rode on his camel until he caught up with Nabi*Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam*while I followed him.

Sayyiduna*Umar*(Radhiyallahu Anhu)*asked,

“O Messenger of Allah, what kind of wealth should we acquire?”

Rasulullah*Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam*replied,*

-----“Acquire a grateful heart,
----a tongue engaged in Zikr (remembering Allah),
---- and a believing wife to help you in the matters of the Hereafter.”*(Sunan Ibn Majah)

this is more beloved to me than all that the sun rises upon.”*(Narrated by Muslim).

*“The Mu’azzin (the one who calls for the prayer) will be forgiven, as much as he raises his voice (with the Adhan), and everything fresh and dry that hears him will ask forgiveness for him (in another version will be a witness in his favour).”*(Ahmed, Abu Dawood, Tabarani)

A'isha رضي الله عنها narrates :

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) said:*

“There are ten innate qualities that are from basic human cleanliness:

Trimming the moustache,

lengthening the beard,

brushing the teeth with the Miswaak,

rinsing the nostrils with water,

clipping the nails,

washing the body joints thoroughly,

plucking the hair of the armpits,

shaving the pubic hair

Circumcision (males)

and cleansing oneself with water after visiting the toilet.”*(Sahih Muslim, Hadith #: 261)

• Abu Sa’d and Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah رضي الله عنهما narrate that

Rasullullah صلي الله عليه و سلم said:

“Backbiting is worse than fornication.” The Sahabah radhiyallahu ‘anhum asked: “O Rasulallah! How is backbiting worse than fornication?” He صلي الله عليه و سلم replied: “A man commits fornication then seeks forgiveness, Allah forgives him;

but a man who backbites is not forgiven, until the one whom he has backbitten forgives him.” (Baihaqi)

Abu Hurairah*رضي الله عنه*narrates that

*“Imaan (faith) has more than seventy branches; the most superior one is saying Laa ilaaha illallah (there is none worthy worship except Allah); and the lowest branch is the removal of an obstacle from the way; and Haya (modesty) is a branch of Imaan.”*(Muslim)

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d رضي الله عنه reports that they (the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم used to eat after the Jummuah Salaah and to have an afternoon nap. (Bukhari 5403)

It is Sunnah to eat after the Jummuah Salaah and to have an afternoon nap
The afternoon nap is called Qayloola.
