I’m a diamond in the dirt
Where they leave me to dwell
Trying to crack my shell
My innocence they try to ruin
My worth they try to cheapen
My brightness they’re overshadowing
Weakening my breathing
My inner being they try to tarnish
Leaving me to solve their anguish
Sometimes I wish to perish
Spread my broken wings
Untie the strings
Find the key
To set myself free
Out into the unknown sea
And bring out the real me
The diamond that I
Was always meant to be.
