These days my heart has "hardened" so bad that even quran just sounds like words to me and praying just feels like movements. i dont know what caused this, but i need some advice.

did you ever have this?

how did you get over it?

how did you stay steadfast?

It's almost impossible to say anything on this as to 'arrive' at a point like where you are with the 'hardheartedness' there is a journey which you went through.

I can only guess that it has to do with frustrations and confusions. For me in the past and still go through phases like that, I always find inspiration by re reading the books in the prophets. Their struggles and strife repeating the messages again and again consistently.

Somehow it works for me.

On praying, I force myself to do it. If I can't then I'll have to make up for it by the days end when I'm at home. After a while, you feel like it is a waste if you don't. I realise now that whatever I felt like yesterday, the moment is gone, and whatever the opportunity is also gone. I could have done it but chosen not to. My loss. Could I have done it? Of course yes!

Don't give up.

:peace:

if u have hardened heart will reading the quran daily soften ur heart?

Yes definitely I recall Shaykh Hasan Ali mentioned it in a lecture.

Also not only read Qur'an but also reflect on it and ponder upon the meanings.

(Quran 4:82 Surah An Nisa) "Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction."

Oh! Definitely! Be sure to force yourself to stop after a small portion. I used to only read two pages per sitting and not a single word more. This pushed me to focus hard on each word. The Qur'an will make your heart melt.
