Nice,

here are some hadits regarding marraige;

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be A losers.
Wedlock, Marriage (Nikaah) [62:27]

Tunkahul mar'atu li arba'in (a woman is married for 4 things): Li-Maaliha (for her wealth), wa li-hasabiha (her family status), wa li-jamaaliha (for her beauty), wa li-deeniha (for her religion). Fadh-far bi dhaatid deen (so you should marry the religious one) taribat yadaak ([otherwise] you will be losers)
I believe that hadith is enough. Do shiek write what kind of men a woman shouldn't marry?

AsSalamOAlaikum WaRehmatuAllah WaBarkatuhu

Yeh, the ones mentioned in this thread?

FiAmaaniAllah

And her ideas arent anti-marriage.

She says:

Of course I want to get married again. And if anyone out there is unmarried, of course, you too, should want to marry and make an effort in this respect. For did not the Rasool of Allah Sallallahu alayhi wassallam tell us, 'Marriage is a sunnah (way) of mine, and whoever does not follow my Sunnah is not of my followers. Get married because I will display your outnumbering the other nations on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever has wealth should get married, and whoever does not should fast, because fasting is a restraint (of desire) for him.' (Ibn Maajah, authenticated by Al-Albaanee)

And this beautiful union has undeniable benefits. Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala has told us in the Qur'aan: 'And among His signs is that He created for you, from yourselves, spouses that you may dwell (in joy and security) unto them, and He set between you love and mercy; surely in that are signs for those who reflect.' (Surah Ar-Room 30:21)

And: 'They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them.' (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187)

I guess her post is encouragement for those who are down because they're not yet wed?

where in this thread? I mean something like "don't marry 7 types of men"

Oh I'm sorry, lol I misread ur post.

Yeah there's a hadeeth that goes something like, marry your daughter to a pious man for if he loves her he will treat her well and if he doesnt he wont oppress her....Something along those lines anyway. Wallahu A'lam.

No 7 guidlines it seems.

Yeh, the ones mentioned in this thread?

The shaykh didn't write that, the translator simply inserted an arabic saying in the footnotes. Sorry for repeating myself, but I just want to clear that up. The book is actually based on a lecture that the shaykh gave, rahimahullaah.

:sl:
And Umm Shaheed, I dont know but maybe she keeps expressing her yearning before her current husband....and which husband would like that? Wallahu A'lam

WassalamuAlaykum

yh i was thinking about this before and realized that it says her former husband, not her deceased husband :-[...so maybe she would be divorced...but i dont get the bit about her kids tho :? hmmm and yh i agree with what u say about the yearning, i think if she were divorced it may be a little insulting to her hubbi...

But at number 6, I think ppl gotta realise that perfection is too high a standard and should never be expected from a spouse.
agreed...but i do think bros should also quit comparing their wifeys to the women they see on TV :rollseyes

Number 7....dont forget that he needs to exercise his vocal cords once in a while too, otherwise they might get rusty :rollseyes :D

yh for a dude, "exercise his vocal cords" may just be only: is dinner ready :p

2. Al-Mannaanah:
The woman who bestows favours, gifts, etc. upon her husband then (at that time or the future) says; "I did such and such for you or on your behalf or because of you.

How one can sense that her prospective wife could be of this kind? Hope the learned shaykh would have given some tips for would-be-husbands.

3. Al-Hannaanah:
The women who yearns or craves for her former husband or children of the former husband.

Again one would need a manual to detect Al-Hannaanah.

.
Kay'atul-Qafaa:
The women who has a brand mark on the nape of her neck (i.e. has a bad reputation or doubts about her).

Unbecoming statement from one who has got Shaykh affixed before his name. Very unislamic in my views to judge a woman by a mark on her nape.

5. Al-Haddaaqah:
The women who cast her eyes at things (i.e. always looking at something to purchase, then desires it and requires her husband to buy it (No Matter What).

Again how one is going the judge Al-Haddaqah? (Hope Shykh was not kidding)

Sis how can one research about a woman whether she bestows favours on her husband and than sing about that? and that too before marrying her. Isnt it a dodgy situation? At least my common sense says that.

Kay'atul-Qafaa:
The women who has a brand mark on the nape of her neck (i.e. has a bad reputation or doubts about her).

Check it out Sis, it clearly says brand mark on the nape of her neck, is this firure of speech or some not-so-modest indication? Words in the bracket says has a bad reputation or doubts about her. I dont think that its very fair to reject any woman just coz of some doubts. I dont want to go into details but douts have been raised against most pious womans too, U can urself find the refrences.

And regarding few of those women who have tendency of abusing their husband's wealth can only be detected once they are married. So whats the use of such kind of foolish advice?

Re: *!* Do Not Marry 7 Types Of Women *!*

Agree with everything said in the email, where do we find such a girl / woman?

If somebody knows a woman as such who is opposite of what Sh. Uthaimeen has mentioned in the topic, please recommend to me. I am looking for a someone for my br in law.

In my view we will know of such behaviour on the women's part - only - after we marry such a woman !!!

Anyways this article is more of enlightement to woman on "Characteristics to avoid after marriage"
