Poverty is a sin against God, and we all contribute to the problem in some way, including the academics on your video who were offering their solution to poverty, they seemed to live in fine houses.

Point 1
You cannot eradicate poverty. There will always be people who really cannot get a job, who don’t want to move house to find work and some who don’t want to work.

Point 2
When wealthy countries protect their industries, specifically agriculture, the poor countries cannot compete. Removing protection and subsidies will go a long way to help poor countries. We do not reduce our standard of living, instead they improve theirs.

We do not reduce our standard of living,

what standard of living is that if it when you keep raising the debt ceiling, redefining what it means to be bankrupt, and with an economy of paper money that has no backing in gold that is based largely on usury, illegal wars and stealing the wealth of other nations?
People who don't want to work should be questioned as to why- I find it hard to believe that someone would want to lay there all day doing nothing.. usually the disinterest in work (in able bodied individuals) comes from two phenomenons:

1- One where the individual is highly qualified and has to accept less than what they know they're worth simply to put food on the table since no organization exists to manage individual units. Nor have they an interest in creating jobs from which to foster the talents of such individuals- unless such individuals have free capital and are independently wealthy and able on their own to sustain their own projects it more often than not ends in failure when they opt to borrow capital and without collateral!

2- A person is a poor fit for the hard boiled jobs that are created overnight and with no long term plans of sustainability to enable such individuals growth & security thus living on society seems like a better option.
both should be addressed rather than ignored!

the problem with the west unfortunately (amongst many things) is that it has elected itself an umpire to the world and expects a filter down economy to work- it doesn't work.. we all become wheels in a machine sometimes placed in a crowded manner to put money in a 1-2% elite's pockets.. work then becomes a means to an end not out of love for what we do and to help mankind to build to progress rather to make money to pay rent and put food on the table and that's nothing to aspire to. It is a form of slavery that doesn't differ much from plantation days save for the no room and board provided!
