Does anyone know how 666 came about?

Nope it is in the New Testement in the Book of Revelations. The wording is something like "And the number of the Beast shall be 666"

I guess it depends on how you define truth.

If finding truth has nothing to do with this world, just religiously, I guess you are right (or not, depending on what religion the reader is).

If you look at it as historically, then the mark of the beast holds truth for this world.

if that's the way you see it.....we each decide how we want to see things......this is your way......fine with me.
