Does the Quran mention Jerusalem once?

When the Hebrew people were enslaved into Egypt by the Egyptions there mother tounge and first language was Hebrew.

Moses spoke and wrote Hebrew throught his life.

I think you are mistaken slightly there, I'm sure he didn't speak and write it ALL his life, when he was taken into the care of the fearow, he was taught the letters of pictures (hieroglyphics).....I'm sure that's a completely different language to the slaves of the time (the Children of Israel [i.e. Jews]), and then, he came to the people of madyan. In which they spoke a different language close to arabic....So how can it be that he sticked to 1 language all his life?
 
Ohhhh? How did he communicate with Ramses of Egypt? was he bilingual? My preceptors told me otherwise so I suppose the truth is out there if one were deeply interested ... either way it doesn't matter to me Moses was a great prophet of God who suffered much for his people.......

He knew the Egyption languages and the language of his people the Hebrews whos language was 'hebrew'.
 
I have my doubts... much has been changed since and people confuse fairy tales for truth.. as such they state the jews built the pyramids but fact is the Jews were in Egypt in middle kingdom well after Khufu, Khafra and Manqara were well built... they were there in the reign of Ramses.... so some things I take with a grain of salt... It still wouldn't change the high regard Islam has for Moses (PBUH) but it has other implications which I don't and can't accept... But thanks for time taken to answer these Q's hope you can answer the others posted in the previous thread =)

The awnser is no. There are interpretations on what the Quran means when it says it, but the word actually never apears.

Referring to Jerusalem is good enough for me

And I think that's blatantly referring to Jerusalem, come into this town and eat is blatantlyreferring to Jerusalem
 
In Muslim world, Jerusalem is known as 'Baitul Maqdis' or 'Al Quds'.

"O my people! Enter the Al Ardh Al Muqaddasa(holy land) which Allah hath assigned unto you, and turn not back ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin"
(Koran:5:21)

According to Ibn Kathir and Al Jalalayn (great scholars on Koranic exegesis),
Al Ardh Al Muqaddasa was interpreted as Ardh Baitul Maqdis (Jerusalem), where the world 'al maqdis' was explained as the Arabic word for 'purity'.

I can not say it is not in the Qur'an, I can only say I have not found it. Then again I have never found any English words in the Qur'an either, and doubt if I will.

In Surah 17:1, the reference is to the Jerusalam by direction but not by name. Come to think of it I do not believe you will find the name Jerusalam in any book that is not written in English.

Jerusalem = Masjid Al-Aqsa. Masjid Al-Aqsa is what is sacred to the Muslims and thus the city and the region around it.

I have no trouble in believing he would have been multi-lingual. Even to this day I think it would be fairly safe to say that most people are at least Bi-lingual. It was probably even more necessary in the time of Musa(pbuh)

Here in Texas, it is a mistake not to have at least a basic understanding of both Spanish and English. It comes natural as people of various cultures have frequent contact.

and that was the kibla for some time... then Mecca was made kibla .... ALLAH SENT THIS MESSAGE(WAHEE) WHILE PROPHET MUHAMMAD(SAS) WAS PRAYING IN THE DIRECTION OF AL-AQSA
