I actually liked the narrations I read from that book, and preferred it waay over fadail a'mal...
The youngsters from bradford would sit around me and listen attentively with their heads bowed as I read from it (was only about 20 at the time myself and started to actually think) , we had an easy going ameer and that made me less stiff necked - and 9/11 happened - then I got all confused again and forgot about it all (the inner things). Weird how all the bickering in the media can put you into a mold - winning or losing rather than "let's all (or at least me) seek what's just and try to walk straight". Then I turned a bit racist as well.....until big things started happening and I started to see the games being played around me and slowly waking up.
Still - that book is a gem.
