Drinking with Left Hand

Assalamualaykum,

When I eat with my right hand then hold a glass with my right hand to drink, I get food marks on the glass. My mum makes a big fuss when I do this and she tells me I must drink with my left hand. Is this permitted?

You can do so but when you put the glass to your mouth, you should place the back of the right hand firmly and flatly under the glass to tilt it towards your mouth. It's still using the the right by controlling the glass.
