Question:
Is it true that if you eat Haram food your salat does not get accepted for 40 days ?
Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
If you eat haraam food, this will cause your du’aa’ to be rejected, hence it was reported in a hadeeth qudsi: “He is nourished with haraam, so how could his du’aa’ be responded to?.” The meaning is that it is unlikely that his du’aa’ will be answered. But salaah (prayer), which includes du’aa’ and other things, will still be accepted, in the sense that it serves to fulfil his obligations, and he does not have to repeat it. What was narrated was that it is the one who drinks alcohol whose prayer will not be accepted for forty days.

what can one do,or help in any way, those muslims who drink.im not joking where i live, theres so many muslim brothers who drink, and im feeling scared as my brother is becoming one of those, please cud ne1 help,?????
I'd Tell their parents.
TBH i would tell them about the punishment that awaits those muslims that partake in drinking. If they do make it to Jannat then they will not be able to drink from the river of wine.
All you can do is keep saying why it is wrong and inshallah they will listen :thumbs_up
This acronym stands for a swearword, so took it out. ! wow, i thought Jannat means paradise with anything you wish lol... so like... Here is CANDY! YOU CAN TOUCH IT BUT YOU CANT HAVE !
Your explanation is so lame...

2:102 They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!

this is for you sem and after i will post soething for ur brother Question:
I am a student in the university, and I live with some other students in a room in the student dorms on campus. I do not have the right to move from this room, and I am forced to stay here. The students that live with me say that they drink beer. Is there any sin involved if I sit with them or eat with them or talk to them?
Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
If it is known for sure that they are drinking intoxicants, then keep away from them in the dorm as much as you can, if they do not accept your advice to them to give up this evil action. If you cannot leave the dorm, then avoid sitting with them, talking to them and eating with them unless it is essential, otherwise you will be sinning.

THANX YANAL.
AND THANKU TO ALL THE OTHERS,GREAT ADVICE.
ive tryed to help them with islamic knowledge, yet they listen and know its not permissable but still do it,its become habitual,i think the only thing which will work is if everyone just does dua, feeding them or lecturing them has jus knda made it worse, but inshallah please remember all the muslims in ya duas,
I understand what you were saying about staying away from people who drink, but I work somewhere where sometimes during breaks and meetings, people will bring out beers and other alcoholic beverages. Although I am not forced to drink, I know my boss and coworkers would be offended if I continuously refused to sit with them when they drank. Is it permissible to sit with them sometimes, of course never drinking, to avoid alienating them?
