Dua to find a good spouse

Allah (swt) knows every languages, you can make dua in your own language after shalaah. And it is better is you try to shalaah tahajjud in the midnight.

However, if you want to read a dua in Arabic, you can read this dua.

"Robbi hablii min ladunka zaujan thoyyiban wa yakuuna shohiban liifiddini waddunya wal aakhiroh"

(Ya Robb, give me a best husband from your side. A husband who also be my best friend in 'Deen' matter, dunya (matter) and akhirah (matter))
 
Just talk to Allah like you are talking to your friend. You don't have to be formal with Him! Also, remember the following;

3. To ask Allah by His Names and Attributes​

Allah Ta'ala says,
"And to Allah belongs the beautiful names, so invoke Him by them."
[7:180]

Buraidah reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) heard a man saying, 'O Allah! I ask You, I bear witness that there is no god but You, the One, the As-Samad (the One upon Whom all creatures depend). He begets not, nor was He begotten; and there is none like unto Him.'

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, 'You have asked Allah by His Greatest Name. When one asks Him by this name, He gives, what one desires, and when supplicated by this name He answers.'

10. Presence of the heart in the du'a​

Make the du'a from your heart (even if you are reading the words, i.e., mean what you say)​

The whole point of du'a is that a person calls out with a sincere heart to his Creator. This sincerity cannot be achieved if one calls out heedlessly, without earnestness.​

Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasalam) said,
Make du'a to Allah in a state that you are certain that your du'a will be responded to, and know that Allah does not respond to a du'a that originates from a negligent, inattentive heart.

Abdullah ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasalam) said: "Hearts are like vessels, some more attentive and capacious than others. When you supplicate Allah you should be certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a supplication that comes from a careless and inattentive heart."

Actually, the Arabic language dua in my first post is just an example.
There are many dua in Arabic language, you can find these in duas book.

But remember, if you can't speak Arabic, don't ever make dua in Arabic if you don't know what's meaning, or translation of that dua in your language. Few duas maybe close to shirk or bidah.
 
There is an ayat of the Quran that somebody suggested to me. It can also be read during Salaat:

ربنا هب لنا من أزواجنا وذرياتنا قرة أعين واجعلنا للمتقين إماما

Rabbana hab lana min azwaajina wa zurriyyatina Qurrata A3yonin wa ja3alna lil muttaqeena Imaama.

Translation: O my Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous
[25:74]

Its part of the Dua of Prophet Ibraheem Alayhis Salaam

This dua' is awesome.
قرة أعين
What you're asking Allaah for is 'coolness of the eyes'. This was a phrase the Arabs used to say back in the day which Allaah took and used it in a different way. This happens a lot in the Qur'an, Allaah takes a common phrase that the people of the time used to say and He uses it in such a way that they themselves are left astounded.

This phrase, ' قرة أعين ' was used by the Arabs when they were traveling in the desert and were engulfed by a sandstorm - what would happen then? Sand gets everywhere, and especially in the eyes. You could not see a thing or navigate or do anything. They would call a place of shelter from that ' قرة أعين ' because it gave 'coolness' to the eyes, i.e. protection, safety, refuge, peace.

So when you make this dua', you're asking Allaah to give you spouses and children that would be to you, as a place of shelter is for a person lost in a sandstorm with the sand clogging his eyes. The dunya with it's trials is likened to the sandstorm and your spouse and children are your place of refuge from it - the place of rest for your eyes.

Subhanallaah. The imagery that's captured in this ayah is simply amazing.
 
here is dua from Holy Quran: وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana hab lana min azwajina wathurriyyatina qurrata aAAyunin waijAAalna lilmuttaqeena imaman Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous."

but what if a sister wants to use this dua?

but it says,

"Grant unto us wives"

but the sister needs a husband

Btw, in Arabic, Azwajina can refer to both, husband as well as wife, because Zawj means husband and Zawjah means wife. Plural of Zawj is Azwaj, and plural of Zawjah is Zawjaat.
So I think this dua is applicable for both. Correct me if I am wrong.
 
Actually, I think Zawj means spouse, and can be used to refer to both wife and husband.
Zawjah (wife) is a more contemporary word and wasn't around at the Prophet Sallallaho Aleyhi wa Sallam's time.
Though I may be wrong ...

Some of the letters in the Arabic language have no similar-in-prononciation letters in English and so people use numbers in place of them.
Ain gets replaced with 3 (because it looks like a reversed Ain), Ha gets replaced by 7 , Hamza gets replaced by 2, Ta by 6 and Saad by 9.
I sometimes use them in transliteration and sometimes not.

Aabirusabeel I thought the same that is why I posted it. It will work for both gender insha'Allah. After Juma'ah I will ask my local Sheikh about this dua and confirm
insha'Allah.
