dying mum or her baby

Salaam alaykum

As some of you know i am trying to inshallah get into uni to do medicine one question that props up in most interviews is that your in your worst case scenario at a accident scene you got a choice to either assist a baby or an adult with same multiple serious injuries! who would you help first! (remembering your the only professional there)

my question to you guys is who would you put first!?

i got it i would help the mother because......................

the baby will inshallah go straight to heaven and will inshallah go and pray for her mother.

I would save the mother.

This is because a mother has great responsibilities over her family. It' the lesser of the two evils right?

My answer had nothing to do with being Muslim or not :p

A mother has great responsibilites over her family whereas a baby doesn't.
..and obviously it is lesser of the two evils.
This mother could have 5 more kids, maybe a husband and she needs to take care of them, hmm you can't expect the baby to do that?
