Greetings,

Don’t forget tomorrow is the big day for Earth Hour and you can do your bit before leaving work today. Please make sure you turn off all non-essential electrical appliances and equipment, i.e. lights, hot water urns, printers, copiers, computers, air conditioners, etc.

Don’t forget to do your bit at home too, tomorrow at 8.30pm!

Earth Hour 2009 aims to reach 1 billion people in more than 1000 cites, encouraging them to cast their vote for the Earth by turning off their lights.

this whole global warming thing is nothing but a lie to prevent developing countries from being industrialized...

these are one of those silly little things where people do something a for an hour to make themselves feel better thinking that ah yes ive done something to save the world. if people really want to do something about it then i think you need to be working for more than an hour, what in the world is the use of turning lights off for an hour only to turn them back on later and keep them on, and then turn them on everydayy????????????????????????????? this is what you call shallow, and as i said, its humans trying to make themselves feel better, wanting to act like they are saving something when they aint doing jack.

Apparently, the aim is "to create a huge wave of public pressure to influence a meeting in Copenhagen later this year to seek a new climate treaty." I applaud the movement. It's not going to save the planet, but it will raise awareness which at least is something.

Its still on and the only appliance one is my heater, computer and Television.

Cant be worse for paying 400£ for electricity? And I didn't say dim light I said less light .

btw Don't forget to set up your clocks Tonight.

It's Summer time! :D

Candles are bad for the environment. They are A LOT less energy efficient than light bulbs, let alone power-saving light bulbs (so they release a lot more CO2 for the light they give).

^ Lol, very true, but people aren't gonna be able to burn enough candles to provide the same amount of light as a bulb, so even with their lower efficiency, you'll probably kinda be saving energy overall...

I personally forgot about "earth hour" completely :-[
