      • Eating Fruits and Vegatables
What does Allah say regarding eating fruits and vegetables?
      Surah An'am 6:141
It is He Who produce the gardens, with trellises and without, and dates, and tilt with produce of all kinds, and olives and pomegranates, similar (in kind) and different (in variety): eat of their fruit in their season, but render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered. But waste not by excess: for Allah love not the wasters.

      Surah Ra'd 13:4
And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighboring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand!

      Surah Nahl 16:11
With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought

      Surah Rahman 55:68-69
      68. In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates:
      69. Then which of the favors of your Lord will ye deny?

What is the current research on being a Vegetarian?

      Lower BMI
As most vegetarian diets are low-fat ones (average vegetarian eats 25% fat less than a typical meat-eater), they usually effect in the lower Body Mass Index of an average vegetarian. This is probably the most visible of all benefits of vegetarianism and the main reason for many people to become a vegetarian.

      Lower cholesterol level
Other widely noted benefits of vegetarianism are decreasing the cholesterol level (by 0.5 mmol/l) and subsequently, the decreased chance of suffering from a heart attack. However, due to the complexity of the heart attack issue, it is still sometimes argued that such decrease results from other factors than a vegetarian diet.

      Longer average life expectancy
One of the best-known benefits of vegetarianism is, however, not the low probability of having a heart attack, but the longer life expectancy. Vegetarians, on average, live a little longer than the rest of us. Whatever benefits and disadvantages vegetarian diets have, it seems that they give us a little more than they take away.

I live in Sunda region, in Indonesia, and the typical food of Sundanese is "Lalap", raw vegetable which eaten with "Sambal", rough chilli sauce.

Vegetables that used in lalap can be varies. Actually lalap is not main dishes, but complementary dishes. The main dishes is rice with fish, chicken, etc. But Sundanese food without lalap is not Sundanese food.

Lalap must be available in every Sundanese restaurant, and always available for free.
