wow tabarak allah you're all so educated masha allah. I'm university just scraping pases on a computer networks degree :( the studying is quite hard lots of theory but the job is nice at the end, you just sit in a office chilling and waiting for some problem to come up like a person forgetting their password ;D

Completed my MSc Computation in 2001. I've been working in IT since then but now Mash'Allah i have taken a slight career change.

BA in Sociology.

I was going to do an MA in Islamic Studies but had a few problems.

i definitely want to do an MA inshaAllah one day and then a PhD. I just want to do one out of interest, although I am not a very good student, sadly :( . During uni my attendance was pretty bad, I got a letter home about it also I barely did any of the homework set and most of my assignments were done the day before they were due in lol. But alhamdulillah I did pretty well, considering :D

It is not necessary that you should be good student.

Yep, I hope inshaAllah I can do it in the future. I like researching and also like doing assignments (however mad that may sound :P )
Well, you have to be really committed to do an MA and PhD. They want good references from your previous tutors too so you have to make a good impression.

Good: nah, Lucky: I suppose, yes. :P

I love studying
computerlosysmiley-1.gif
and now I gained a Doctorate in Alibaba

Salam Alaikkum Sis

:giggling: Alibaba علي بابا‎ means cheating in FUNNY way :giggling:, Arabs used this word when someone wanna tease you of cheating, I guess its a name of a person and its a fictional character in the tale Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves

I got fed up going to School, I loved to work work work and work because life was hard.

But ISLAM is exception, I went to Islamic school to learn it and I am still here in IB to learn more inshallah, alhamdollelah

Ohh so the ali baba story was real!! we were made to hear it over n over again in our childhood, i loved it
I guess so then I have done the ali baba primary course too :D

but yes I have a strong thing against cheating, I cant cheat even it is the easiest thing to do , I hate cheating, better write my own than cheat , I have a great imagination ;D

Salam Alaikkum

When I was not Muslim, I admit to cheat on exams and i love to pass around my papers for my classmates when Im confident with my answers :D and it also happend I was 1st in the class, it is shame that I don't deserve it haha... ;D

But in real life, I don't really cheat especially I (hope indeed) have Allah now in my LIFE, even THINKING many times to accept a $1 food as treat from someone, if ever I accept it I would return it 10times :D

You mean 'Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves'.

What is that work

Yeah, that's right title,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I mean I started working at very early age, when I reached 15, i got fed up at school, my family would like me to study Nursing but "OH WELL" I just cant, I hate hospital, the smell of medicine and on top of that, it's a sad place,,, today someone cut his finger, tomorrow someone cut his feet and the next day someone his cut HEAD...! What a scenario???

So basically, I dont have a degree, I went to get some diploma in IT course (not a deal at all) and if someone ask me whether I'm educated, I can say yes I am in ISLAM, I am willing to go for another 5yrs too :D

which is opposite of my husband, he wants to get a Master degree ...HAHA! goodluck

For people who thinks about degree alot, I can say that what's written for us is what's written for us, if we will get 50,000 $ our whole life, we wont get more than that, I am not saying dont get degree, I am just saying that money is blessings from Allah.

I am employed and I like stability, alhamdollelah been in same company for almost 8yrs now....
and I have small business too and it's pretty satisfying, the secret is not just education, on top of education its prayer, hard work and patience (I have patience in business but not in daily life looool)

seeing quite a few brothers and sisters are starting college this year just some advice dont take a subject unless your going to enjoy it and your passionate about it however DONT TAKE A SUBJECT YOU DONT LIKE OR YOUR NOTSURE ABOUT BECAUSE YOUR PARENTS TOLD YOU TO OR YOU ARE PRESSURED INTO IT because youll just get bad grades if you dont like the subject you wont want to work you wont be paying attention in lessons then youll fail your exams and youll have trouble when it comes to applying to university remember its your life as long as you are doing things within the boundries set by allah dont let someone else try to relive their life through you

You have a point bro m2p, (but please try and use full stops after every sentence.)

NO.You are wrong......I think parents should interfear in deciding the child's career....they are more experience ,they know best what will be good for their children.
I agree with you if don't like anything, any field in which you are not interested....but your parents are telling to do that.....Initially you may find some difficulties .but if you have a trust on your parents, you will start liking that subject, that field.

I agree you shouldnt just take subjects that someone tells you to, however, you wont necessarily fail them if you dont like them. Some people are naturally very intelligent, some of my friends didnt like certain subjects at school but still got really high grades.

I dont think parents should tell their children what to do. At the age in which they have to decide, they are old and wise enough to make their own decisions. It also gives their children independence. Also if the children start failing they cant blame it on anyone but themselves.

Times change, and what was popular at the time your parents were in school is different to whats popular now (for careers). Parents also should not enforce particular subjects just because their friends/relatives' kids have become professionals in particular careers (e.g. So and so's daughter is so clever, she is a lawyer/doctor, my daughter should become one too!).
