Etiquette of discussing Islam matters?

Please lend me your thoughts, recently I've been engaged in several Islamic discussions at the university(about Allah, the existence of god, and some weird stuff). However, curse words are being used in order to discuss such matters. Honestly I find it disturbing as we are discouraged to do so and it reflects what kind of akhlak we have. Do we continue or stop discussing? :\

If it starts to be in bad taste, best to leave. It is definitely not encouraged to have the discussion head in the direction where it becomes 'abusive' and swear words are used.

We are supposed to leave a situation in a better position than when we entered it... (If it is possible).

What is the context of the cursing? Could you give a PG-13 (edited) example of how it comes up?

No cursing when speaking of Allah or anything Islamic. Best to avoid talking to the kind of people you'd think would be likely to use such foul language, and never continue a foul conversation. Always put an end to them. Make it clear that they are not OK and never will be.

Walecum As Salaam,Allah in ch 16 v 125 of Quran says invite people to the way of lord with beautiful words and preachings and argue with them in best possible peaceful manner.always keep this verse in mind while doing this discussion. Moreover Allah in ch 7 v 199 of Quran says hold onto forgiveness,command what is good, stay away from ignorant.
