Asalamulaikum

I would just like to say, even tho u sed u dnt want comments, but i felt this needed to be sed and is very important...

I was listenting to a talk by billal phillips and it was in the light of the quran, and he sed that these days quran recitation has become like music, its like top of the pops, u have top ten qaris, qari number one, number two etc etc.

Ppl have it on in their homes as ambience, like a background sound, they think this makes their homes islamic, however, if the quran is being recited, it is wajib to listen to it. Its no good listening to it as music, but we have to understand it and ponder over what is being recited.

Inshallah this is what all of u have been doing anyways. remember its not ambience or back ground music, these are words of Allah swt and have to be treated with the upmost respect.
