For those interested in the different Qira'at..the entire Qur'an in Jam3 style (where the Imam recites all 10 recitations together) via Ashara Sughra recited by Sh. Taha Muhammad AlFahd. Perfect if you're learning the Qira'at or just want to listen to the different styles of recitation. Amazing.

This qari is amazing, I don't know how he is doing that. This qari, Taha Al-Fahd, is really a master of the recitation, and I wonder why he is not more famous. There cannot be many people on this earth that have the ability to read the entire Quran in all the qirats simultaneously with perfection (lol its not like I'd know if he's making a mistake in those qirats).

I always wondered why the name "Ibraheem" is spelled differently in surah Al-Baqarah than in any other surah. In other surahs, it is spelled with a "Ya" but in Baqarah it is spelled with one of those upright fathas that is going down. Then I listened to surah Baqarah in the different qirats and noticed that the qari would say IbrahAAM instead of IbrahEEM for one of the qirats. Only in surah Al-Baqarah tho. So that is why it looks different in surah Baqarah, SubhanAllah the Quran was preserved so closely even in the way it is written. In the other surahs he only says IbrahEEM.

I am still curious tho, as to why it is only surah Baqarah, and if anyone knows the Qirat that reads it like that.

That is not Quran, it might be some translation of the Quran in some foreign language (Turkish?). The Quran will never be recited in a tone like that, that tone reminds me of singing. And I've never seen a translation sung like that, strange.

He is. He reciting in Asharah Sughra which is the 10 qira'at via Shatibiyyah and Durrah. It's tougher than reciting in Ashara Kubra which is via Tayyibatun Nashr of Imam Jazari because the way of Shatibiyyah has only one Tareeq so it's very precise because you can't deviate from it. What he's doing is a separate art called jam3 - I believe you actually need to get ijaazah in it as well separetly.

As for Ibrahaam - the Imam that recites it that way is Ibn Aamir. There's no rule for it as far as I am aware, it's just one of those things that happen as per the recitation (meaning, it is from the furoosh) and it is only in specific places in the Qur'an as you figured out, not all of them.

If you want to learn how the Qira'at work and also learn the rules between the different recitations, I suggest you take the Ashara crash course with Sh. Uthman Khan here:

That's some good info brother. You seem to be familiar with the different recitations, did you happen to take that course with Sheikh Uthman? I used to know that Sheikh as he once lived in in my city and taught in the masjid, he is a master at reciting Quran and Hifz that's for sure.


This video of AbdulBasit is awesome, he's reading one ayah from surah Al-Isra, but its definitely not in Hafs. Not quite sure which style he's reading in, sounds amazing though.

Yeah he's awesome..really chill too. I took that course, really beneficial. It's great for everyone. I hope you took advantage of him when he was in your city!

Mashallah thats great that you took the class. I will definitely think about signing up for that class, at least to get a basic understanding of the Qira'ats. I was young when the sheikh was here, and I did hifz after he had left. So I barely knew him to be honest. I just heard stories that he memorized the Quran in under 1 year and he can lead the whole Ramadan taraweehs without even opening the mushaf to review lol crazy stories don't know if they're true.

Mashallah that's a very good recitation by Khalid Jaleel, but I like this one even better. It's still Khalid Jaleel reading from almost the exact same place in surah Al-Anbiyaa, but in 1431 taraweeh, awesome. And that surah Qaf u posted was amazing too.
