Facing the Kaba in Mecca

As Salaamu Alaikum,

I have a ?. If you live in Philadelphia what would be your direction of facing quiblah for pray? Is it North East or South East or North West. I have a compass to tell me but I was wondering with out the compass how do you know.

It would be North East, with a little more tilted to the East than to the North.

It's a Qibla, a direction for prayer so the muslims can agree in a unified direction. Especially in Jamaa'ah/congregation.
