A poem I wrote a lil while ago.. mostly just a rant.

Faith
Look into these eyes
Shattered by lies
Devastated to the heart
Thank you for tearing my world apart
You promise freedom, peace, and liberty
But it seems like contradiction is your specialty
So, let me tell you a story, true
about a child who never knew
that as tomorrow came to be
the word 'family' would be history
The father who coaxed his fright
No longer there to hold him tight
The mother who made him smile with joy
No longer there for her baby boy
The brother who always watched his back
No long to save him from enemy attacks
The sister whose care he secretly seeked
No longer there to put him at ease
Now this child's all alone
No place to go, nowhere to call home
Lack of food made him thin and frail
Once upon a time, love had fueled his fairytale
As you read this, do you feel pain?
Although, you shouldn't be one to complain
Let me tell you a story of the past
about that boy who aged too fast
His parents, siblings, home, no more
All that was left was endless war
Don't get me wrong, he's still alive
Trust in God, that he wasn't deprived
There's no use, don't apologize
Just read on, read on, and realize
That..
You can deprive me of an education
You can murder my pride
You can taunt me with satisfaction
You can consume my rights
You can push me towards depression
You can humiliate me to no end
You can resolve to aggression
You can lock away my freedom
You can inflict more pain
You can take over my land
But the effort's all in vain
Don't you understand?
You can steal those I love
You can increase my hate
You can handle me rough
But don't underestimate my faith.
