Father's Day

Assalam wa alaikum,

In Islam parents have an extremely important role and stature.

It says in surah Al-'Ahqaf, ayat 15:

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

We usually treat our mothers with utmost respect and love due to their unconditional love and support. But we can't forget fathers. Father's day is coming up, and although there isn't an Islamic holiday for father's day, we should celebrate it because it shows our dads that they are really important and special to us too.

Let's make this year one where we show our loved ones how much they mean to us, especially our parents, who come right after Allah (swt) and Muhammad (saw).
May Allah (swt) bless our parents, our grandparents, our children, and ourselves. Ameen.

Disagree with this post. We should not celebrate biddha! You want to really show your dad that he is important in your lives and he is special to you? This is how you do it:

A) Make him feel he is a parent and not put aside where just the mother is the importance in your lives. You know how to do it. Do it.

B) If there is a dispute between spouses never side with the mother against the father (or vice versa). Even if one parent pushes you to do so.

C) If a divorce happens never allow the mother to poison your mind so you hate your father and try to see him more than once every year.

You want to show he means something to you.....

D) When he gets old...don't throw him out of his home and put in old care houses

E) Don't be smart mouth at him and belittle him all the time

F) Show him respect the way he deserves it even if the mother fails to teach you these attributes to you at young age (a duty that is obligatory in every wife who becomes a mother. I mean it with full sterns, it is an obligation and duty for every month to teach her new born to respect his or her father, even if she have birthed 20 children)

That one day...special father day...don't need...don't want and in fact...a disrespect to fatherhood at a highest level. I literally loath on kuffar holidays and inventions. I don't want one special day for fatherhoods, I want it everyday 24/7. Don't you mothers want that too??
