I've been wanting to start this thread for quite some time, but I was too shy to start it (pathetic I know).

nehoo..

We all know who the poetry writers are on this forum (Cough ahem Me:p: among others). So...I had an Idea..Here it goess.

Wat u do is, u gotta write down the name of a Poet...Example Umm-al-Shaheed...u have to check all the poem threads started by this member and select one poem u think is her best poem.

Rememba this is not a competition! Nor is it for favouritism! It's just a fun way we can tell each other wat we think our best poem is since many of us have written lotsa poems. It's like u the audience are getting a chance to say something...

Make sure that all the poets get mentioned, u can choose which poet/poem you choose, hopefully if all take part we will go through all the names InshaAllah. (I might post a list of all the poets names...

There's no winner or loser....So relaxx....:sunny:

If anyone got any Questions ..shoot InshaAllah.

‘Khalda/My mother’

I don’t want to give her rubies and emeralds, or diamonds shone up by chemicals, I just want to be the coolness of her eyes, like she is of mine, I want to be her backbone and spine, I’m the son she got but not the one she deserved, I’m grateful she walked me to school and wore her feet on the kerb, I wanna make sure her place in jannah is marked ‘reserved’, I wish I could give her just one day where she didn’t have to chose between heat, or getting something to eat, I want to carry her on my shoulders coz jannah is under her feet, I want to tell my mother I love her, but I’m too afraid and duck for cover, I place no one but god and his messenger SAWS above her, I wish I could erase all the beatings she took from my dad, but I do forgive her though and that took all I had, I want to build her a mansion, but in the hereafter, filled with the hassanah of her laughter, placed next to the house of my master, with grounds as far as the eye can see, and fruit as sweet as can be, god knows she deserves it, he sees her struggle and observes it, I just pray he curbs it, she taught me everything so without her I’d be nothing, without her hands to feed me I’d be in a coffin, life is difficult but seeing her smile makes it easier, I’m changing the world for you I hope its pleasing’ya, I’m gonna hold on tight and I’m never releasing’ya, I just hope one day I raise my kids the way you raised me, and expel the their demons the way you expelled the ones that faced me, I dedicate these tear stained pages to your memory, see I model my fatherhood on you, coz you were the only father I knew, you were discipliner and lover, I love you, my mother.

im not using a pc so i cant post links but i will share with you the names of some of the best poets ...........in no particular order.....m421.....fighting4imaan......sevgi....yanoorah.....truebeliver..........and the top 2 poets are brother tktony and abu sayyid......mashallah the above brothers and sisters are very talented
 
ermm i think da best POETS are the ones u learn from...cos words are wat teach us. personally i would say JUNIOR...cos he's amazin, ties words together like string and makes it strong, well still addin meaning. mashalla....he's also the most memoriable to me :S...and da one who started this thread...i read one of ur poems...forget which one...but it was awesome..dat poem (even tho i cant remeba the NAME of it)...stuck in ma mind and i was real proud to see a sis write so well. mashalla more power to u. and ermm..LOL DATS IT. no offence to any other poets or poems, im sure they ALL nice :)
