I happened to come across to a thread created by a sane and grown young Arab member in an English-speaking international community dedicated to the genetic science and anthropology.

Someone asked him, why did he leave Islam and his answer was like "it's too violent and ridiculous"

This proves that there are no ethnic groups that Allah swt chose as most Muslims tend to think about, you're not a chosen one unless you follow your religion properly

How does Islam consider such individuals?

One should not judge Islam because it is the religion which God Almighty has created and has chosen for us as official religion and whoever judges His Laws and Legislations, has done blasphemy which is punishable by death according to Islamic sharia. The one who thinks that Islam is ridiculous, I do not accept that because it is Satanic whispers which made him think like this and he has answered to it by replying to his question. And the one who leaves Islam has done disbelief because it is rejecting Truth and they are disbelievers because God Says that He does not accept any other religion than Islam. That man should know well that "Muslim" means total submission to Lord God and He should do what He commands him to do. For example, in the beginning I used to complain that I cannot pray because I feel sleepy or tired or lazy or I don't know sort of excuses, but later on somehow I have managed to start praying and guess what? I have started to pray regulate without having any sort of irrelevant negative feelings towards ritual prayers, I used to complain about His Laws but now I have learnt to accept them by time and I will try to follow them(these divine laws) as much as I can. What I can't, I leave it, what I can I do it. The one who thinks like this about Islam, he shows an amount of ignorance because he did not learn to accept Islam as it is and did not tried to follow it and hence he is a rejector of Truth.

A lot of so called 'ex Muslims' are fakes and they've never been Muslims so we have to be careful which 'ex Muslims' story we just accept on face value

A few have apoststed but Alhmdulillah many more convert to Islam and are born to Islam every day.

Ofcourse Allah does not choose ethnic groups and its just unfortunate that most western white people are non-Muslim but that is more due to them not getting proper dawah of Islam like other parts of the world did rather then their ethnicity
