You are right that it is against the rules to excessively PM or free chat with the opposite sex on this forum. However, I only sent her 1 message.

Considering that it is severely haram to not get married, I find it shameful you would try stopping a brother or sister from seeking their spouse.

You are free to find your spouse but this forum is for discussions only, not for matrimony purposes. You have already got advices how to find your spouse in halal ways.

I won't say it is unheard of for a brother or sister to 'meet' on an Islamic forum to get married, on another forum I'm on it has happened that the admin got married to one of the members. That said, they had both been members for over 12 years and so knew one another well....

I agree with brother ardianto, a sister will obviously not reveal her face or give any personal details until she is sure it is in the final stages- and say if you end up not liking her appearance, or maybe even the other way round?

And the danger with a forum is, even if she really is a 'sister', she may be married, or perhaps unmarried but very happily engaged...

Marriage is an excellent sunnah, but there are so many Muslim marriage forums specifically for that purpose, you'll find many more 'fish' (as you put it) there than here.
