aslaam alykum,

ok a maths question for u.......

factorise the following:

1) y2-a2 (y squared - a squared)
2) x3 - x (x cubed)
3) a3- ab2

there will be more later........

:sl:

erm ok, i dont know if this is write but here it goes, :)

bismillah hirahman niraheem

1) y2-a2 (y squared - a squared)
2) x3 - x (x cubed)
3) a3- ab2

1)yxy -axa =(y2-a2)???
2)XxXxX-XxXxXxX= X2(X-X2)
3)axaxa-axbxaxb=a2(a-b2)

2 = squared im guessing you ment the same thing right?

:w:

aslaam alykum,

1) soz wrong, try again, its completing the square
2)soz wrong again,
3)nope

its completing the square, try again, dont give up.........

the dierence of two sqaures:

x2-y2= (x-y) (x+y)
REMEMBER THIS RESULT!

e.g:
y2-16

y2-16 = (y-4)(y+4)

you see how i got that?

I'm not that high yet.

lolz me neither! i c how you got that
x2-y2
so for example then *just to practise* if y2=48 then the answer would be (y-7)(y+7) is that right?

what about if x2=100 would i do the same thing as above?

mr.baldy, r u in set 1?

aslaam alykum,

yeah sister hijabi sista  u got it,

no im not in set 1, im not that good at maths..........

anyways ok, ermmmm any of u guys doing Merchant of Venice?

:sl:

can anyone help me please?

im doing my science coursework and i don't understand this question, can someone please transalate it into english lol

im studying this pharmaceutical organisation called GlaxoSmithKline yeah, and it's aking me to describe the comparative size of local, national and international organisations that use science??!!

I know it is an international based organisation. :p

it's in for tomorrow so i'll be very grateful if you reply back A.S.A.P ;)

aslaam alykum,
i think its trying to ask you to compare the size of different sized buissness that uses science, so GSK would be an example of an international sized pharmacy, g2g be back soon so will expand then

ok...why do you choose the questions about the stuff i dont listen in school about!!!! ;)

only kidding!
this is about the only formula i like lolz,

a step up transformer is used to increase the voltage, in comparison to a step down transformer which decreases the voltage.

its something to do with a coil and the formula looks a bit likes this:

output voltage/ input voltage= secondary turnss/primary turns

a transformer is used in an eletricity station, it transforms something to something :p

ok let me choose the next question.......................

im thinking.........................................

ok what is a geiger counter?

aslaam alykum

ooh ohh pick me..................

a geiger counter, is that little gadget that like counts radioation levels, right

wa alykum aslaam

i dunno is it?

lolz yea only joking. :thumbs_up

its to do with the protons and nuetrons being able to move through a material. for example: beta rays wont pentrate the aluminium material but will penetrate the paper.
so it depends on the material used to sort of absorb the rays...
