He who made that defined..hath defined himself ^^^^^^^

in other words...who the heck has time to write out a great load of a definition upon the word "geek"..but a geek himself.

erm.. i dunno i like a variety of different things, never quite stuck on one thing sooooooooooooo..im just wierd, different, and unique :) not a geek

i think for the poll you should have had a third option...... which was borderline geeks/ non geeks!! where i mean half and half.

you have geeky traits, yet you're normal....

cz if you're a geek/ a boffin/ a whiz kid/ or simply different cz u excell in the computer and scientificky type of stuff....i dont believe u become a geek cz it comes naturally to you??

why i say this is because some people they have an area of interest but they have to work really really hard to get some where with it. As is the case with me!! I can be thick 50% of the times.... in a goood way, but then the other 50% of the time i might do something out of the normal and even suprise my self.

so i dont know what category i would come under:? :?

If im not making sense..... then i'l give an example.:)

with me.....

my family: might consider me as a geek! why? because i'm always studying, have my head in my books....:confused: but i doubt everyones interpretation of geek are the same:-\

my friends: would consider me as immature, thick and silly.... because there jokes and level of conversations are just on another level and i never understand them....:-\

my tutors: may consider me as a star pupil, becuase i tend to get the best results for my assignments and uni work and they think i'm a hard worker:).... which i am, yet exams are my weakness:confused:

the reality of it all...... is somewhat different

I think everyone has me wrong. I find my area of study is really hard.... i dont understand it.... so i feel, just to be on the same level of understanding compared to the rest of my classmates i have to study four times as hard as all of them.... hence the reason for my head always in books..... I find it really hard, competeing with everyone so i am always under the pressure to do my best..... and usually all the hard work pays off..... but no way does it come naturally to me.... and no way do i do it for fun, i do it so i am not seen as a failure because, my family, friends, relatives and tutors have too high expectations of me and its really hard to meet them:enough!:

& if that makes me a geek in their eyes... i disagree.... and if its based on the fact that i enjoy doing something that is unusual and cz not many people do it then thats just wierd to class someone in a group because they dont conform to the 'normal' or 'boring' areas of interest. :confused:

& no i dont wear glasses.... (although my eyesights not as good as it used to be but i blame the computer screen for that)... and no, neither do i dress funny, like tank tops and stripy, zig zagish sweaters.....(although i think theyre cute)!! I'm a normal person. I hope:eek:

plus sometimes i take things too serious!!

so referring back to the geek question....... i'm neither:nervous: :peace: :blind: :coolious:

im not a geek mainly because im more into things other than science
to me religion and philosophy is interesting
i love soccer too so i dont think i qualify as a geek
but if geek means to obsess over something then im a "muslim soccer geek"

Salaamz, Wooooow sorry 2 say nope I aint no geek(far from it) I dont like the term geek tho I like 2 use nerd.....Geeks are sooo uncool, its just sumthin about dem that makes me wanna scream, hmmm maybe its cuz there GEEKZ, but anyways I know people who are tho, like they love science and technology, and all that otha crap, but yea.......Its on, Holla Backz Younginz

I am not a complete geek.....I am 1 wen it comes 2 studies......Got 2 b the best at everyting I can....(SADLY im not!)

I guess that means I'm half geek. lol I'm accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits, but I have a very good social life.
 
im jus sort o geek in studies if being in 1st sets counts...

but i blame ma parents...cuz its only cuz o em dat i v to study like all day....:rollseyes
