^ Oh they even made stuff like those....cool!!

^LOL those shoes looks ...hard though :skeleton:

i think the whole election of a black president was a diversion in world affairs. america is the most hated nation in the world and by putting a black man as their president they hope to gain approval from the world while still continuing their policies. a wolf in sheeps clothing. same ol BS,

Who are these "they", exactly? That might have been a more plausible view if the election campaign had obviously thrown up a better candidate of either colour or sex. It didn't.

I honestly don't think America is trying to show off and improve their image by electing him like that. Do you live here? There's a long history that's been 'defeated' and everyone's just wallowing in themselves about it rather than caring whether or not the rest of the countries approve of their achievement. We've improved it to ourselves, and that's all we care about right now.

[Edit: Wallowing isn't the correct word I wanted, so if anyone has any better suggestions, can they correct me? It's hard to describe the meaning that I want, so that just seemed like a good word before I knew the meaning for sure.]

No, a lot of Americans honestly want their country to be a force for good, a participant in the world community, and have a good human rights record. They think, rightly or wrongly, that by electing Barak Obama they will be renouncing the legacy of Boy George and sending a signal to the world that they embrace and wish to achieve the three things I mentioned earlier.

Obama was elected for a very simple reason. Americans became tired of being run by the republican Party.

This will be the first time since 2001 that we will have a Democrat President and the first time in a long time a democrat who has support from both the Congress and the Senate.

^ Dont forget first black man. People are saying Obama was a Muslim and reverted into Christianity, wonder if it's true?
OBAMA rules he has his own little batmobile. I saw in the news that his car is bulletproof, bomb proof etc. Also has sequrity camera and bullet proof tires! How cool. Except the car it's look for the cool is ugly.

Yep, just like my car:X

Of all the presidents of the United States of America, George W. Bush was the 43rd.

that's the kindest thing I can say about him.

For those not born and living in the United States, today's event might not hold the same significance as it does to us that do. This was a special day in American history and an affirmation of our political values.

:sl:

Good bye Bush. We don´t miss you at all.

I don´t think Obama will be any better. He too needs some great war where many americans and much more foreign civilians will become killed. As last decades those foreigners have been muslims.

imsad

War against terror means same than war against muslims to USA.

You have a short memory.

Bill Clinton was a flawed president and a dishonest man. But as president he helped Muslims in Bosnia escape oppression from Serbs. He also worked towards a lasting peace in Israel. He could have done more, but he was much, much better than Bush.

If you think Democrats are "the same BS" as the xenophobic, warmongering, delusional and immoral Republicans who have been running this place for the last 8 years, you need to have a reality check. I understand that it's easy to be cynical about such things, but that doesn't mean it's wise to be cynical. Give Obama a chance before you dismiss him.

Except Obama did not mention "war against terror" anywhere in his speech.

Again, it's easy to be cynical and hateful and dismissive of everything America does. That doesn't mean it's wise.

Yes I've noticed that. It's someone how a good indication of a different and somehow better attitude Obama might adopt.
