I guess my motives are obvious, but if they're not, I'll make them clear. I'm like that... a very straight shooter. I hate getting only one side of a story and I've already heard the one side ~ now I need to hear the other. I figure, I deserve at least that much.
Islam, well it's not very clear to me. Christianity is, sort of... but you have to remember that I am Sicilian. We have a very different take on Christianity. My mother always talks about how the Pope, back in the day, decreed that anyone guilty of witchcraft (which was anyone who didn't voluntarily give up their lands to the church), would not only lose their land, but the land owned three generations back. They "acquired" a lot of land that way. I don't know why Europe took that, but when that dude tried to move on Sicily, my ancestors raised an army and we kicked their papal butts... all the way back to Rome! Of course, we could do that because we were all united.
What I see here, with the movement of Islam, this is very confusing. It sounds more to me like a "family dispute" and no one seems to agree on any of the points except this one:
Some of the brothers (Judeans) decided they were going to write into being that it is LAWFUL to kill their brothers (the Palestinians) in order to claim a land that was owned by their fathers. Meanwhile they're complaining that Palestine decided to uphold this new law and kill their brothers (the Judeans) to re-acquire the land owned by their fathers.
Am I getting warm or am I completely off base here? This is what I've come to find out. Until I know what's going on, I can't enter into anyone's House of God - and I'm not exactly pleased with that. But then again, I'm not exactly fond of this world either. I only came as a favor to a friend.
Looking forward to real dialogue here
