KHANSA R.A
Hazrat Khansa رضي الله عنها was the best female in Arabic poetry.
She accepted Islam in Medina ,along with some others of her clan.
In the year 16 A.H ,during the khilafah of Hazrat Umar رضي الله عنه , the famous battle of Qadisiyyah took place between the Muslims and the Persians.
Hazrat Khansa رضي الله عنها participated in this battle along with her four son's. She called them on the night before the battle and said:
"When you get up tomorrow morning, be prepared to contribute your best in the battle. Go ahead into the enemy lines ,seeking help from Allah سبحانه و تعالي. When you see the flames of war rising high, get right into the centre and face the enemy chiefs. InshaAllah you will get your abode in Jannah with honour and success."
Next day, when the battle was in full swing, all four son's advanced towards the enemy lines. One by one, they attacked the enemy while reciting the words of their mother in verses and fought until they drank of the cup of martyrdom.
When their mother received this seemingly tragic news, she said:
"Alhamdulillah! Glory to be to Allah سبحانه و تعالي who has honoured me with their martyrdom. I hope that Allah سبحانه و تعالي will unite me with them under the shade of His mercy."
SubhanAllah... What an inspiring mother who gave preference to Allah سبحانه و تعالي over herself.
She did not regard their martyrdom as a loss, but rather a gain and an investment for her aakhirah.
May Allah سبحانه و تعالي reward her for her sacrifice and unite us in Jannah. آمين يا رب العالمين .
