salam
Just thought I'd let you know of the confusion I caused in my Oola, Thaniya AND Thalitha classes today! :D

I told them that gullible rhymed with orange if read reeeaaaalllyyyyy ssllllloooowwwwlllyyyyyy.
they were at it for ages ;D

Hee hee i felt a bit bad about it afterwards though.

Although I was sorely disappointed that not ONE of them got it! :-\

I think it is because Bro. Rashad made an error. I was told gullible sounds like lemon if you say it very fast.

oh really?

'A mu'min is not stung from the same hole twice'. (not that I fell for it the first time ;D)

Nice try, Grandpa :)

lol after my brother saw your reply i saw him whispering it to himself really fast. Expected, but... :-\

Strangely people will try it even knowing it is pure nonsense. Just like people will read this post to it's end anticipating that I will explain why. No matter how much I say that this post is meaningless and has no explanation. People will continue reading it. At this point you already know that this post is not going to offer any useful contribution but you will continue to read it. This post is absolutely useless, I am not going to say anything in it. But, here you are still reading it and the fact is you would read this post to it's end no matter how long I make it. You have now wasted over a minute of time reading this and you know further reading will still be a waste of time. But, here you are still reading.

This can also be seen in real life as well, which is what you were alluding to. People know they are wasting time but will continue to waste time. People will sit hours upon hours watching television or YouTube and in the end will have derived no benefit whatsoever. Yet, they persist in wasting more time into it. It's really pitiful.

Sad fact, but TRUE.

Ha!
I never read your post all the way to the end!! :D
Actually, I did read Woodrow's post all the way to the end - I simply cheated by posting the last sentence only. :D

I guess the reason is quite simple.
It depends on the person who is speaking (writing). Sometimes is becomes evident quite quickly that a post may not be worth reading to the end ...

But when the poster is generally known to be genuine and informative and knowledgeable and helpful, then it is worth reading every snippet, in the hope of finding a new nugget of wisdom! :)

(Just on this occasion though Woodrow let us down in our quest for wisdom! ;D)
