Hope everyone is in the best of Imaan and health inshAllah.

I go the gym often, and this is the only time my iPod comes out. I have to have something in my ears to keep my execrising for longer else I will just get bored and quit exercising, I know that sounds kind of lame but its true, I will do 20mins max at the gym and then lose motivation to do anything else if I'm not listening to music. :hiding:

Now the main reason why I want to stop is because I want to totally stop music out of my life forever, but the gym I go to have music playing in the background (Only gym in the area I live in) so even if I didn't take my iPod I would still be listening to music even though it doesn't motivate me to carry on exercising. Am I making sense? :hmm:

Now I have decided to switch the tracks on my iPod for nasheeds iA.. And see how I get on. Can anybody post any good nasheeds?

Or if anyone has any other suggestions as to what I can do, that'll be great iA.

Asalaamu Alaikum, yes i have the same problem in my gym hence why also bring my own Earphones and Mp4 player or mobile phone. I find personally find that listening to Qiraat whilst jogging actually makes me jog for much more longer whilst at the sametime one is gaining reward of listening to the Qur'an.

Try it for yourself and see what results you come out with. I downloaded the iQur'an pro from the android market but you can download qiraat from anywhere in the internet. I mainly listen to Sheikh Ghaamidi or Sheikh Shuraim.

Hmmm... I did think of this but then I thought my full attention won't be on the Quran when I'm listening to it, and my mum always says to me you shouldn't have Quran playing if you're not going to listen to it, but inshAllah I'll give it a go.

JazakAllahu Khairan. :)

Yes of course ones full attention should be on listening to the Quran hence why it can help a person in jogging for longer if their attention is on the words of the Quran being recited but if one finds that one is not listening to the Quran properly then one may stop listening to it and instead listen to a nasheed instead.

you cannot rely on nasheeds and music for motivation.....make the calmness and tranquil state that you acquire after a session in the gym your ultimate motivation.

results could also motivate you
