It is reported on the authority of Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There are three qualities for which anyone who is characterized by them will relish the sweetness of faith:
He to whom Allah and His Messenger are dearer than all else;
He who loves a man for Allah's sake alone; and
He who has as great an abhorrence of returning to unbelief after Allah has rescued him from it as he has of being cast into Hell.”
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ الثَّقَفِيِّ، - قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، - عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ ثَلاَثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ بِهِنَّ حَلاَوَةَ الإِيمَانِ مَنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا وَأَنْ يُحِبَّ الْمَرْءَ لاَ يُحِبُّهُ إِلاَّ لِلَّهِ وَأَنْ يَكْرَهَ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي الْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ أَنْ أَنْقَذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ كَمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُقْذَفَ فِي النَّارِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Narrated/Authority of

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Ubayd, the mawla of Sulayman ibn Abd alMalik, from Ubada ibn Nusayy from Qays ibn al Harith that Abu Abdullah as-Sunabihi said, "I arrived in Madina in the khalifate of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, and I prayed maghrib behind him. He recited the umm al Qur'an and two suras from the shorter ones of the mufassal in the first two rakas. Then he stood up in the third and I drew so near to him that my clothes were almost touching his clothes. I heard him reciting the umm al-Qur'an and this ayat, 'Our Lord, do not make our hearts go astray after You have guided us, and give us mercy from Your presence. Surely You are the Giver. ' " (Sura 3 ayat 8)
 
Narrated `Aisha:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever died and he ought to have fasted (the missed days of Ramadan) then his guardians must fast on his behalf."

Mutarrif bin Abdullah bin Ash-Shikh-khir (RA) reported from his father: that he went to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he was reciting: ‘The mutual rivalry (for piling up worldly things) diverts you.’ He said: “The son of Adam says: ‘My wealth, my wealth.’ And do you own anything except what you give in charity, such that you’ve spent it, or what you eat, such that you’ve finished it, or you wear, such that you’ve worn it out?”

Narrated/Authority of Ali

"The Prophet (saw) said to me: 'Do not show your thigh, and do not look at the thigh of anyone, living or dead.'" Daif
 
Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Do not observe fast for a day, or two days ahead of Ramadan except a person who is in the habit of observing a particular fast; he may fast on that day.

Humaid bin Nafi (RA) narrated that: Zainab bint Abi Salamah (RA) said: "I entered upon Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when her father Sufyan bin Harb died. So she asked for some perfume that had something yellow saffron or something else, so a girl applied it to her and put some on her cheeks. Then she said: 'By Allah! I have no need for perfume except that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: "It is not lawful for a woman who believers in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for the dead more than three days, except for her husband (in which case it is) four months and ten days."

Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven ."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَفِظْنَاهُ وَإِنَّمَا حَفِظَ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ، وَمَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ ‏"‏‏.‏ تَابَعَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ‏.‏

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah (RA) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you performs ablution and does it well, then he comes to the mosque with no other motive but prayer and not seeking anything other than the prayer, he does not take one step but Allah raises him in status one degree thereby, and takes away one of his sins, until he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque he is in a state of prayer so long as he is waiting for the prayer.'"

Narrated/Authority of Ibn Abbas

Allah's Apostle came to the drinking place and asked for water. Al-Abbas said, "O Fadl! Go to your mother and bring water from her for Allah's Apostle ." Allah's Apostle said, "Give me water to drink." Al-Abbas said, "O Allahs Apostle! The people put their hands in it." Allah's Apostle again said, 'Give me water to drink. So, he drank from that water and then went to the Zam-zam (well) and there the people were offering water to the others and working at it (drawing water from the well). The Prophet then said to them, "Carry on! You are doing a good deed." Then he said, "Were I not afraid that other people would compete with you (in drawing water from Zam-zam), I would certainly take the rope and put it over this (i.e. his shoulder) (to draw water)." On saying that the Prophet pointed to his shoulder.
 
The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, Allah the Most High said, I am as My servant thinks (expects) I am. I am with him when he mentions Me. If he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself; and if he mentions Me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly greater than it. If he draws near to Me a hands length, I draw near to him an arms length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed. [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
 
Narrated Muawiya (RA): I heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established."

Narrated Abu Huraira:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If somebody eats or drinks forgetfully then he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten or drunk, has been given to him by Allah."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا نَسِيَ فَأَكَلَ وَشَرِبَ فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ، فَإِنَّمَا أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ وَسَقَاهُ ‏"‏‏.‏

Narrated Az-Zuhri (RA): From Salim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When one of you eats, then let him eat with his right hand, and let him drink with his right hand, for indeed Ash-Shaitan eats with his left hand, and he drinks with his left hand."

Narrated/Authority of Ibn Juraij

"Abdul-Aziz bin Abdul-Malik bin Abu Mahdhurah narrated from Abdullah bin Muhairiz who was an orphan under the care of Abu Mahdhurah bin Miyar that when he was preparing him to travel to Sham, he said: 'O my uncle, I am going out to Sham, and I will be asked how you started the Adhan.' So he informed me that. Abu Mahdhurah said: 'I went out with a group of people, and we were somewhere on the road, when the Muadh-dhin of the Messenger of Allah (saw) gave the call to prayer in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (saw). We heard the voice of the Muadh-dhin, and we were shunning it (the Adhan), so we started yelling, imitating it and mocking it. The Messenger of Allah (saw) heard us, so he sent some people who brought us to sit in front of him. He said: 'Who is the one whose voice I heard so loud?' The people all pointed to me, and they were all telling the truth. He sent them all away, but kept me there and said to me: 'Stand up and give the call to prayer.' I stood up and there was nothing more hateful to me than the Messenger of Allah (saw) and what he was telling me to do. I stood up in front of the Messenger of Allah (saw) and the Messenger of Allah (saw) himself taught me the call. He said: "Say: 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah; Ash-hadu anna Muhammad (SAW)an Rasulullah, Ash-hadu anna Muhammad (SAW)an Rasulullah (Allah is the Most Great, Allah is the Most Great, Allah is the Most Great, Allah is the Most Great; I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah; I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allah).'" Then he said: "Raise your voice (and say). Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah; Ash-hadu anna Muhammad (SAW)an Rasulullah, Ash-hadu anna Muhammad (SAW)an Rasulullah; Hayya alas-salah, Hayya alas-salah; Hayya alal-falah, Hayya alal-falah; Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah (; I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah; I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allah; Come to the prayer, Come to the prayer; Come to the prosperity, Come to the prosperity; Allah is the Most Great, Allah is the Most Great, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah).'" Then he called me when I had finished saying the Adhan, and gave me a small bag in which there was some silver.' Then he put his hand on the forelock of Abu Mahdhurah, then passed it over his face, then over his chest, and over his heart, until the hand of the Messenger of Allah (saw) reached his navel. Then the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'May Allah bless you and send blessings upon you.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, do you command me to give the call to prayer in Makkah? He said: 'Yes, I command you (to do so).' Then all the hatred I had felt towards the Messenger of Allah disappeared, and was replaced with love for the Messenger of Allah (saw). I came to Attab bin Asid, the governor of the Messenger of Allah (saw) in Makkah, and gave the call to prayer with him by command of the Messenger of Allah (saw)." (Sahih) He (Abdul-Aziz) said: "Someone who met Abu Mahdhurah told me the same as Abdullah bin Muhairiz told me."
 
It was narrated from 'Amr bin Sulaim Az-Zuraqi (RA) that he heard Abu Qatadah say: "While we were sitting in the Masjid. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to us carrying Umamah bint Abi Al-'As bin Ar-Rabi', whose mother was Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). She was a little girl and he was carrying her. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed with her on his shoulder, putting her down when he bowed and picking her up again when he stood up, until he completed his prayer."

It was narrated that 'Amr bin Dinar heard Tawus say:
"I heard Abu Hurairah narrating that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Adam and Musa debated, and Musa said to him: "O Adam, you are our father but have deprived us and caused us to be expelled from Paradise because of your sin." Adam said to him: "O Musa, Allah chose you to speak with, and he wrote the Tawrah for you with His own Hand. Are you blaming me for something which Allah decreed for me forty years before He created me?" Thus Adam won the argument with Musa, thus Adam won the argument with Musa.'"

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، سَمِعَ طَاوُسًا، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يُخْبِرُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ احْتَجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى يَا آدَمُ أَنْتَ أَبُونَا خَيَّبْتَنَا وَأَخْرَجْتَنَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ بِذَنْبِكَ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ يَا مُوسَى اصْطَفَاكَ اللَّهُ بِكَلاَمِهِ وَخَطَّ لَكَ التَّوْرَاةَ بِيَدِهِ أَتَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدَّرَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَىَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَنِي بِأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثَلاَثًا ‏.‏

This hadith is related to most frequently asked question about free will and predestination. I normally advise people to read the story of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) and Shaytan. Prophet Adam peace be upon him did not blame decree for his fault. He (peace be upon him) accepted his fault and he was forgiven. That the route true believers should take.
Shaytan on the other hand blamed his decree and Allah for his own mistakes. He was cursed and is destined for hell. Those who blame predestination, should understand that they are on the path of Shaytan which only leads to hell.
 
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle ﷺ said, "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven."

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ سَلاَمٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏
"‏ مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ ‏"‏‏.‏
 
Narrated/Authority of Usamah bin Zaid

"The Messenger of Allah (saw) and Bilal entered Al-Aswaf and he went to relieve himself and then came out." Usamah said: "I asked Bilal: 'What did he do?' Bilal said: 'The Prophet (saw) went to relieve himself, then he performed Wudu, so he washed his hands and face, and wiped his head and he wiped over his Khuffs, then prayed.'" (Sahih)
