Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

25th Jumada al-Awwal 1434 (6th April 2013)

Narrated Abdullah (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "It is a bad thing that some of you say, 'I have forgotten such-and-such verse of the Qur'an,' for
indeed, he has been caused (by Allah) to forget it.

So you must keep on reciting the Qur'an because it escapes from the hearts of men faster than camel do."

Bukhari Vol. 6 : No. 550

Narrated Aisha (Radi-Allahu 'anha):

Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) heard a man reciting the Qur'an at night, and said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on him, as he has

Bukhari Vol. 6 : No. 558

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

27th Jumada al-Awwal 1434 (8th April 2013)

Narrated Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "If one recites the last two Verses of Surat-al-Baqara at night, it is sufficient for him (for that night)."

Bukhari Vol. 6 : No. 560

Hazrat Kaab bin Iyad (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Verily, there is a Fitnah (trial) for every nation and the trial for my nation (or Ummah) is wealth.”

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith #
2336].

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

28th Jumada al-Awwal 1434 (9th April 2013)

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said to me, "Recite the whole Qur'an in one month's time."

I said, "But I have power (to do more than that)."

Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Then finish the recitation of the Qur'an in seven days, and do not finish it in less than this period."

Bukhari Vol. 6 : No. 574

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Between the two Blowing of the Trumpet there will be an interval of forty.” The people said, "O Abu Hurairah! Do you mean forty days?” He said, "I cannot say anything.” They said, "Do you mean forty years?” He said, "I cannot say anything.” They said, "Do you mean forty months?” He said, "I cannot say anything. The Prophet added: `Everything of the human body will perish except the last coccyx bone (end part of the spinal cord), and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body. Then Allah will send down water from the sky and people will grow like green vegetables’.”

[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith #
457]

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) used to supplicate: "Allahumma inni a`udhu bika minal-ajzi wal-kasali, wal-jubni wal-harami, wal-bukhli, wa a`udhu bika min `adhabil-qabri, wa a`udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat [O Allah! I seek refuge in You from
helplessness (to do good), indolence, cowardice, senility, and miserliness; and
I seek Your Protection against the torment of the grave and the trials of life
and death].” Another narration adds: "wa dala`id-daini wa ghalabatir-rijal (And from the burden of indebtedness and the tyranny of men).”

[Muslim Book 35, Chapter 14, Hadith #
6536]

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, “I saw in a dream, a cloud having shade. Butter and honey were dropping from it and I saw the people gathering it in their hands, some gathering much and some a little. And behold, there was a rope extending from the earth to the sky, and I saw that you (the Prophet) held it and went up, and then another man held it and went up and (after that) another (third) held it and went up, and then after another (fourth) man held it, but it broke and then got connected again.”

Abu Bakr said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Let my father be sacrificed for you! Allow me to interpret this dream.” The Prophet said to him, “Interpret it.” Abu Bakr said, “The cloud with shade symbolizes Islam, and the butter and honey dropping from it, symbolizes the Quran, its sweetness dropping and some people learning much of the Qur’an and some a little. The rope which is extended from the sky to the earth is the Truth which you (the Prophet) are following. You follow it and Allah will raise you high with it, and then another man will follow it and will rise up with it and another person will follow it and then another man will follow it but it will break and then it will be connected for him and he will rise up with it. O Allah’s Apostle! Let my father be sacrificed for you! Am I right or wrong?” The Prophet replied, “You are right in some of it and wrong in some.” Abu Bakr said, “O Allah’s Prophet! By Allah, you must tell me in what I was wrong.” The Prophet said, “Do not swear.”
(Sahih Bukhari 87:170)

I wonder if the part that he got wrong is the idea that the truth ever breaks on its own. The rope must have actually been something else.

1st Jumada al-Thani 1434 (11th April 2013)

Narrated Ibn 'Umar (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) decreed that one should not try to cancel a bargain already agreed upon between some other persons (by
offering a bigger price).

And a man should not ask for the hand of a girl
who is already engaged to his Muslim brother, unless the first suitor gives her up, or allows him to ask for her hand.

Bukhari Vol. 7 : No. 73

Anas (May Allah bepleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or is oppressed". A man enquired: "O Messenger of Allah! I help him when he is oppressed, but how can I help him when he is an oppressor?” He [SAWW](PBUH) said, "You can keep him from committing oppression. That will be your help to him".

[Al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Hadith Number
624].

Hazrat Abu Bakrah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Shall I not inform you of one of the gravest of the cardinal sins?” We said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” He [SAWW](PBUH) said, "To join others as partners with Allah in worship and to be undutiful to one’s parents.” The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) sat up from his reclining position (in order to stress the importance of what he was going to say) and added, "I warn you making a false statement and giving a false testimony. I warn you against making a false statement and giving a false testimony.” The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) kept on repeating this (warning) till we wished he should stop.

[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 74, Hadith # 290 &
291]

other, and do not listen to the evil talk of the people about others' affairs, and do not have enmity with one another, but be brothers.

And none
should ask for the hand of a girl who is already engaged to his (Muslim) brother, but one should wait till the first suitor marries her or leaves her."

Narrated Ibn Abbas (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "If anyone of you, when
having sexual intercourse with his wife, says: Bismillah, Allahumma
jannibni-Sh-Shaitan wa jannib-ish-Shaitan ma razaqtana, and if it is
destined that they should have a child, then Satan will never be able to
harm him."

Hazrat Saad bin Abu Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: We left Makkah with the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) for Al-Madinah, and when we were near Azwara,’ he [SAWW](PBUH) alighted (from his riding-camel) raised his hands in supplication to Allah for a while and prostrated himself. He remained for a long time in prostration. Then he stood up and raised his hands for a while, after which he prostrated himself (again), and remained for a long time in prostration. Then he stood up and raised his hands for a while, after which he prostrated himself for the third time. Then he [SAWW](PBUH) said, "I supplicated my Rubb and made intercession for my Ummah, and He granted me one-third of them. So I again prostrated myself in gratitude to my Rubb. Then I raised my head and supplicated my Rubb for my Ummah, and He granted me another third of them. Again I raised my head and supplicated my Rubb for my Ummah and He granted me the last third of them. So I fell into prostration out of gratitude before my Rubb.”

Seven people that will receive shade on the day of judgement

Seven people that will receive shade on the day of judgement

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Allah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. (These seven persons are) a just ruler, a youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allah (i.e. worships Allah sincerely from childhood), a man whose heart is attached to the mosques (i.e. to pray the compulsory prayers in the mosque in congregation), two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only, a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for illicit intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah, a man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity), and a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears.

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (trouble) his neighbor.

And I advise you to take care of the women, for they are created from a rib and the most crooked portion of the rib is its upper part; if you try to straighten it, it will break, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked, so I urge you to take care of women."
