Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

4th Ramadan 1434 (13th July 2013)

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever gives two
kinds (of things or property) in charity for Allah's Cause, will be called
from the gates of Paradise and will be addressed, 'O slaves of Allah! Here
is prosperity.'

So, whoever was amongst the people who used to offer their

prayers, will be called from the gate of the prayer; and whoever was
amongst the people who used to participate in Jihad, will be called from
the gate of Jihad; and whoever was amongst those who used to observe fasts,
will be called from the gate of Ar-Raiyan; whoever was amongst those who
used to give in charity, will be called from the gate of charity."

Abu Bakr
said, "Let my parents be sacrificed for you, O Allah's Apostle! No distress
or need will befall him who will be called from those gates. Will there be
any one who will be called from all these gates?"

The Prophet (Sallallahu
'Alaihi Wa Sallam) replied, "Yes, and I hope you will be one of them."

Bukhari Vol. 3 : No. 121

The Prophet Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "If anyone forgets and eats and drinks, then let him complete his fast because it is Allah who fed him and gave him to drink."
[Bukhari & Muslim]

Narrated Talha bin 'Ubaid-Ullah:
A bedouin with unkempt hair came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Inform me what Allah has made compulsory for me as regards the prayers." He replied: "You have to offer perfectly the five compulsory prayers in a day and night (24 hours), unless you want to pray Nawafil." The bedouin further asked, "Inform me what Allah has made compulsory for me as regards fasting." He replied, "You have to fast during the whole month of Ramadan, unless you want to fast more as Nawafil." The bedouin further asked, "Tell me how much Zakat Allah has enjoined on me." Thus, Allah's Apostle informed him about all the rules (i.e. fundamentals) of Islam. The bedouin then said, "By Him Who has honored you, I will neither perform any Nawafil nor will I decrease what Allah has enjoined on me. Allah's Apostle said, "If he is saying the truth, he will succeed (or he will be granted Paradise)."

Allah, the All-Glorious, says:

Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. (Qur'an 13: 28)

Therefore remember me [by praying, glorifying etc.] and I will remember you…

(Qur'an 2: 152)

And the men and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues, Allah has prepared for them. Forgiveness and a Great reward [i.e. Paradise]. (Qur'an 33: 35)

You who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon [the early morning (fajr) and ASR prayers. (Qur 'an 33: 41-42)

You who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. (Qur 'an 63: 9)

Aild remember your Lord when you fbrget... (Qur'an 18: 24)

And glory’s' the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. And in the night-time also, glorify His Praises, -and at the setting of the stars. (Qur 'an 52: 48-49)

You who believe! When you meet [an enemy] force, take a firm stand against them and remember the Name of Allah much [both with tongue and mind], so that you may be successful. (Qur'an 8: 45)

In an authentic hadith, the Prophet (bpuh) said:

"The example of one who remembers his Lord in relation to one who does not remember his Lord is that of the living and the dead."

The Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) also said:

"The mufarridoon outstrip others." His Companions asked. "Who are the mufarridoon, O' Messenger of Allah." He said, "The men who remember Allah often and the women who remember Allah often."

And in another authentic hadith, the Prophet (bpuh) said:

"Shall I not inform you of the best of deeds, and the purest of them with your Lord? The deed which is better for you than spending gold and silver (for a good cause). And which is better for you than to meet your enemy. And you cut their throats and they cut yours?" They said, "Yes_ O' Messenger of Allah." He said, "The remembrance of Allah."

The following is an authentic hadith:

"A man came to the Prophet and said, Messenger of Allah, the commandments of Islam have become too much for me, and I am old in age; so inform of something that I can adhere to.' He said, `That your tongue (continually) remains moist with the remembrance of Allah."'

May Allah bring peace and harmony into your life in this blessed Ramadhan and accept all your good deeds and forgive all your bad deeds.
.Ameen!

The Prophet (pbuh) said “O God, grant me life as a poor man, cause me to die as a poor man & resurrect me in the company of the poor” His wife asked him why he said that, & he replied “Because the poor will enter Paradise before the rich. Do not turn away a poor man, even if all you can give is half a date. If you love the poor & bring them near you God will bring you near Him on the Day of Resurrection.” [Tirmidhi]

Salman ibn Amir Dhabi related that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Break your fast with dates, or else with water, for it is pure [Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "Fasting is a shield (or a screen or a shelter). So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting." The Prophet added, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. (Allah says about the fasting person), 'He has left his food, drink and desires for My sake. The fast is for Me. So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times."

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "This is the month of charity in which believer's sustenance is increased. Whosoever feeds a fasting person or gives a fasting person a single date or a sip of water, to break the fast, for him there shall be forgiveness of his sins and he will be saved from the fire of hell, and for him shall be the same reward as for him (whom he fed)". 9th Ramadan 1434 (18th July 2013)

Narrated Al-Bara (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

It was the custom among the companions of Muhammad (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) that if any of them was fasting and the food was presented (for breaking his fast), but he slept before eating, he would not eat that night and the following day till sunset.

Qais bin Sirma-al-Ansari was fasting and came to his wife at the time of Iftar (breaking one's fast) and asked her whether she had anything to eat.

She replied, "No, but I would go and bring some for you."

He used to do hard work during the day, so he was overwhelmed by sleep and slept.

When his wife came and saw him, she said, "Disappointment for you."

When it was midday on the following day, he fainted and the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) was informed about the whole matter and the following verses were revealed: "You are permitted To go to your wives (for sexual relation)
At the night of fasting."

So, they were overjoyed by it. And then Allah
also revealed:

"And eat and drink Until the white thread Of dawn appears to you Distinct from the black thread (of the night)." (2.187)
