“When married couple pray together they share an intimacy that cannot be created by any other means, that feeling is amazing.”

Beautiful Gift Idea

“When lovers are not able to meet, the best thing is to send is a book, or a letter. The lover reads that letter over and over. That is what the Quran is- a book, a letter from Allah. From the Beloved, to you. And because you love Allah, you read it over and over.”

It would be awesome to make a Khatam of Qur'aan together. Perhaps, in the first week of marriage. 1 Manzil a day[emoji181]

Marriage advice: hold hands.

This isn’t a post with 10 bullet points in it, or some weird clickbait to make you continue reading. My advice is simply to hold hands with your spouse when you are walking together anywhere. Always.

Even if you're walking from the car into your apartment or house and it'll take you 10 seconds to get there. Hold hands.

Even if your hands are clammy and sweaty in the middle of July. Wipe them off and hold hands.

Even if you just got into an argument in the car and your eyes have rolled so many times that it feels like they’re going to get stuck in the back of your head. Hold hands.

Even if you’ve been married for ten years or twenty years and you have kids running amok and mountains of unfolded laundry at home. Hold hands.

Make it a habit, not an exception. Holding hands melts tensions like a chocolate bar in a kid’s eager palms. Holding hands conveys love without ever saying, “I love you.” Holding hands connects your bodies, and physical connection is powerful.

I’ve heard people say strange things like a woman should walk a few steps behind her husband. If you choose to do that, okay. But don’t make it seem like it’s the “Islamic” thing to do. Our tradition is brimming with examples of how the Prophet (saw) and his companions loved their spouses with depth and openness.

And holding someone’s hands sends a clear message not just between the parties doing the hand holding, but also to onlookers. It says: this is my spouse. I stand next to her/him. I support her/him. I will not tolerate her/his mistreatment by others. I am unwilling to let the small things come between our hands or our hearts.

There is strength in that.

So yeah, hold hands :)

Is holding hands in public, for love and romance, not a sign of immodesty? Is it incorrect to think this way?

If you want to get married, ask Allah for 3 things in a spouse:
1. Grant me someone who will remind me of you.
2. Grant me someone who will hold my hand in Jannah.
3. Grant me someone who will elevate my Emaan.

An article from Maulana Khalid Dhorat:

----------------------------------

" HARDCORE TRUTH ABOUT MARRIAGE! !!!!

01. Marriage flourishes when the couple works together as a team; when both husband and wife decide that winning together is more important than keeping score.
Good marriages don't just happen. They are a product of hard work.

02. Your children are watching you and forming lasting opinions on love, commitment, and marriage based on what they see in you. Give them hope. Make them look forward to marriage.

03. Husbands: The reason why other women look attractive is because someone is taking good care of them. Grass is always green where it is watered. Instead of drooling over the green grass on the other side of the fence, work on yours and water it regularly. Any man can admire a beautiful woman, but it takes a true gentleman to make a woman admirable and beautiful.

04. When a husband puts his wife first above everyone and everything except Allah, it gives his wife the sense of security and honor that every wife hungers for.

05. A successful marriage doesn't require a big house, a prefect spouse, a million dollars or an expensive car. You can have all the above and still have a miserable marriage. A successful marriage requires honesty, undying commitment and selfless love and Allah at the center of it all.

06. Pray for your spouse every day; in the morning, in the afternoon and at evening. Don’t wait until there is a problem. Don’t wait until there is an affair. Don’t wait until something bad happens. Don’t wait until your spouse is tempted. Shield your spouse with prayer and cover your marriage with the fence of prayer.

07. The people you surround yourself with have a lot of influence on your marriage. Friends can build or break your marriage; choose them wisely.

08. One spouse cannot build a marriage alone when the other spouse is committed to destroying it. Marriage works when both husband and wife work together as a team to build their marriage.

09. Don't take your spouse for granted. Don't take advantage of your spouse's meekness and goodness. Don't mistake your spouse's loyalty for desperation. Don't misuse or abuse yours spouse's trust. You may end up regretting after losing someone that meant so much to you.

11. Dear wife, Don't underestimate the power of the tongue on your marriage. The tongue has the power to crush your marriage or build it up. Don't let the Devil use your tongue to kill your spouse's image, self-confidence and aspirations. Let Allah use your tongue to build up your marriage and bless and praise your spouse.

12. Beware of marital advice from single people. Regardless of how sincere their advice may be, most of it is theoretical and not derived from real life experiences. If you really need sound advice, seek it from Allah-fearing, impartial and prayerful mature couples whose resolve has been tested by time and shaped by trials.

My dua for all my children❣

May each one of you have a blissful marriage filled with respect, integrity and love."

Strangely I came across this advice yesterday on a blog and intended to post it here but the author wasn't mentioned. Fortunately, I didn't give credit to the wrong person!

Maulana Khalid Dhorat is a well-known `Aalim from SA. He studied at Zack Park.

He is a writer who has published many beneficial articles. He is also the author of "How Well do You Know the Sahabah? 300 Questions and Answers to increase your knowledge". It's a very nice Kitaab which I recommend people read. It's very informative and beneficial.
