I wouldn't give to a non-believer because they shouldn't be eating haraam things either and by giving it to them you are saying it is okay for them to eat it

But it is Haram for you to purchase it in the first place. Why aid sin?

Why don't you give the burgers to the dogs. The dogs from streets are forced to search in the bin where are lot of bacterias. Since he is already eating the human food you should respect him and give straight to them.

The question doesn't have to do with us buying and giving haram to the non Muslims. Its about when haram is given to us, what do we do with it...

Or did I misunderstand something here. :-[

That is correct. I think the differences come in as to what happens after we accept the item.

I deal with they problem simply by not accepting the gift, then there is no question of trying to despose of it in a non-haram manner. Then again, I don't get many gifts anyhow. I'm not in either the work world or the academic world anymore and my only socialising is among Muslims.

Sis, you are absolutely right. I have no idea why i even quoted sister 'smile', seeing that her post is spot on. Must be the stress. :)

Jazakumullah Khair, for correcting me.

thank them and politely reject it giving the reason.

i did that once at my old workplace and they were fine.

Once, during Ramadhan, they were giving out free Boost bars at university. Me being me, I took one to eat at Iftari, putting it in my pocket. Come iftari (or 'second brekkie' as I call it, to a cricket chorus), I take it out, look at the ingredients and realize it's haraam. Next day, I offer it to non-muslims acquaintances but they don't want it, so in the bin it goes.

with me it depends what it is. if its food then i'll chuck it but if its something like perfumes/cosmetics etc (they usually have alcohol in them) then i'll pass it on to someone else.

:sl:

except the fourth option, i do them all...depending on which suits me when.
