Re: Non halal food

:sl: i made a big mistake today i was so hungry so my auntie came home with chicken burgers that were not halal and i had 1:( now i feel even worse knowin that my prayer and dua will not be answered fo 40 dayz and sum1 told me that there is no point praying or makin dua since it wont be answered o accepted:cry:

What? I don't think that if u eat non-halal, your prayer won't be accepted for 40 days. Isn't that only for a person who visits a fortune teller? Unless, there's a hadith or verse that proves otherwise, I think that you're incorrect on this.

:salamext:

The case of eating/drinking the impermissible is only in the case of when one's dying ^

Permitting the Dead Animals in Conditions of Necessity

Allah said,

(But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above mentioned animals), then surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) Therefore, when one is forced to take any of the impermissible things that Allah mentioned to meet a necessity, he is allowed and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful with him. Allah is well aware of His servant's needs during dire straits, and He will forgive and pardon His servant in this case. In the Musnad and the Sahih of Ibn Hibban, it is recorded that Ibn `Umar said that Messenger of Allah said,

«إنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ تُؤْتَى رُخْصَتُهُ كَمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ تُؤْتَى مَعْصِيَتُه»

(Allah likes that His Rukhsah (allowance) be used, just as He dislikes that disobedience to Him is committed.) We should mention here that it is not necessary for one to wait three days before eating the meat of dead animals, as many unlettered Muslims mistakenly think. Rather, one can eat such meat when the dire need arises. Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Waqid Al-Laythi said that the Companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah! We live in a land where famine often strikes us. Therefore, when are we allowed to eat the meat of dead animals'' The Prophet replied,

«إِذَا لَمْ تَصْطَبِحُوا، وَلَمْ تَغْتَبِقُوا،وَلَمْ تَخْتَفِئُوا بَقْلًا فَشَأْنُكُمْ بِهَا»

(When you neither find food for lunch and dinner nor have any produce to eat, then eat from it.) Only Imam Ahmad collected this narration and its chain meets the criteria of the Two Sahihs. Allah said,

(with no inclination to sin,) meaning, one does not incline to commit what Allah has prohibited. Allah has allowed one when necessity arises to eat from what He otherwise prohibits, under the condition that his heart does not incline to eat what Allah prohibited. Allah said in Surat Al-Baqarah,

(But if one is forced by necessity without willful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, then there is no sin on him. Truly, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) Some scholars used this Ayah as evidence that those who travel for the purpose of committing an act of disobedience are not allowed to use any of the legal concessions of travel, because these concessions are not earned through sin, and Allah knows best.

To the original poster - continue repenting and keep praying your salaah's since that is ordered of you. We will also pray for your forgiveness inshaa Allaah, and please don't give up hope of the Mercy of Allaah.

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) say: Allah the Almighty said:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

It was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.

In regard to the question - i think you should consult a scholar inshaa Allaah.

Here's a good link where you could ask the question:

And continue in your salaah and repentance, knowing that Allaah will forgive you since He knows your sincerety inshaa Allaah.

I really don't know, i think you should consult a scholar as stated earlier.. since none of us really know what you can do in this situation - but what we do know is you should continue in repentance and salaah, because if you give that up - then you're just throwing yourself into something even worse.

Perhaps a more knowledgeable brother/sister can shed more light on food that is haram (forbidden) and what is halal (permissable). I am sure that zabiha mat slaughtered according to Islamic procedures is halal and that pork/swine is haram. What about meat in USA groceries and restaurants? Perhaps Br. Fi_sabillah has a link to a reputable fatwa that can give guidance.

Re: Non halal food

was there any food to eat other than the non-halal? Because if there werent it would be permissable to eat it. I think it said it somewhere in the quran; that if ur so hungry and there not halal food, you can eat the non halal. My iman told me this; you can even eat pig. But that if there was no halal food nearby.

Yes, that is true.

ONLY if it is absolutly necessary. If there is NOTHING halal around the house, then yes, one can resort to eating Pigs and other Haram food.

But in this time and age, there are SHOPS all over the place, halal food is so easily available.

Unless you are stranded on an island and there is NOTHING around for you to consume (halal) then you can resort to eating something haram. But like i said,... in time and age, there is no reason why one should do such a thing.

How was a chicken burger haram?
Did it have pork mixed in with it?

:sl:

Ok I will try to explain more clear to you.

Ok i'll just leave it, you're just repeating yourself and so am i.
I have no idea how a chicken burger cannot be halal unless theres some other non-halal ingredient in it. Im only asking in case theres something i need to be looking out for myself or something i dont know.
