The Gospels continue to mention incorrect things about the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him

4- - The Gospels mention that a man came to Jesus and asked him for permission to bury his father. What do you expect the response from Jesus, dear reader??

: 22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Matthew 8:22

Is responding in this way considered respect for parents, especially when one of them dies??

Dear reader, What did the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, say about the rights of parents

we can still honor our parents continually after death - subhanAllah, Islam has the answers to all of our needs! It is related that a man came to the Prophet PBUH and said:

“‘O Prophet of Allah! Is there any kindness left that I can do to my parents after their death?’ He replied: ‘Yes, you can invoke blessings on them, forgiveness for them, fulfill their promises and pledges (to do righteous deeds), maintain ties with kinfolk for the mere reason of being dutiful to them (i.e., parents), and honor their friends.’” - Hadith (Abu Dawood)

The Prophet (SAW) placed kindness and respect towards parents just after the prayer offered on time as the prayer is the base of Islam. ‘Abdullah Ibn Masood, said: “I asked the Prophet (SAW) which deed is most liked by Allah. He (SAW) said: ‘Prayer offered on time. ‘I asked him: ‘Then what? He (SAW) said: ‘Kindness and respect towards parents.’…” (Al-Bukhari)

In the days of the Prophet (PBUH), a man asked for permission to go on a military expedition. The Prophet asked him if he had a mother, to which he replied yes, Prophet Muhammad said, “Stay with her because Paradise lies beneath her feet.” (Nasai)

The gates of Paradise are found wide open for all the dutiful children who love, obey, honor, and serve their mothers.

A man came to the Prophet (PBUH) asking, ‘Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said, your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said, then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said, then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet replied, then your father.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Matthew 8:22

Peace be with you yasoooo,

When I read the Quran, I search for meaning, it helps me to understand my own faith from a different perception. I think if we are to read scriptures other than our own, it can help us find a greater understanding.

The teachings of Jesus are hard to follow, his teachings were for all walks of life, some for parents, workers, preachers, teachers, and a higher level directed at those who wanted to be disciples.

Preceding is Matthew 8;18 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake. 19 Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

20 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Jesus lived the life of a nomad, was the teacher of the law prepared to give up his possessions and follow Jesus? Matthew 19;21 is another similar passage.

Matthew 19;21Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

For Jesus to say, let the dead bury the dead, is another way of saying, what are you prepared to give up, in order to follow me. We are to forgive, love and pray for our enemies.

Scriptures are to challenge our way of thinking, and to search for a greatest good.

Many of the events portrayed in the Old Testament were the stuff of legends, written down centuries after they would have occurred, if they occurred at all. Books like Job, Ruth, Daniel and Esther were not even legends, but novels that can not be said to have occurred at any point in time. The Books of Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Ezera and Nehemiah were written within a lifetime of the events described.

If you want to impress someone with the divine power of your religion, you therefore have to come up with prophecies that are not really prophecies. One way of doing this is to write a prophecy of an event that has already happened, then date the prophecy to an earlier time. An example of this is in Mark chapter 13, where Jesus purportedly prophesies the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, an event that happened in 70 CE. A flaw in that prophecy is that it is linked to a prophecy that Jesus would soon afterwards return on clouds of glory—an even that clearly did not happen.

Reinterpreting the words of ancient writer to make them mean things the original author never intended has been a popular way of creating prophecies. Just take a verse out of context and rely on cultural change to obscure the original meaning, making it open to all kinds of interpretation.

The events mentioned in the Bible were not recorded until much later

Mark, the first New Testament gospel, was written about 70 CE and describes the mission of Jesus and his crucifixion, which are traditionally assumed to have occurred around forty years earlier.

Matthew’s Gospel, which is believed to have been written at least ten years after Mark’s Gospel, describes the birth of Jesus and the flight to Egypt: as these things would need to have happened during the lifetime of King Herod, who died in 4 BCE, the account would have been written around 90 years after the events portrayed

Luke’s Gospel, which is believed to have been written around the end of the first century, portrays the nativity of John the Baptist during the reign of King Herod, more than a hundred years earlier.

Luke’s Gospel also describes the birth of Jesus during the census of Quirinius almost a hundred years earlier
The oldest prototype christian brand bibles date from the late 4th century and are known as Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus. These two hand written human authored books are very different from each other and the centuries later KJV bible and versions based upon it in circulation today are very significantly different from the 4th century original prototypes.

Philo Judaeus was born in 20 B.C.E. and died 50 C.E. He lived as the greatest Jewish-Hellenistic philosopher and historian of the time and lived in the area of Jerusalem during the alleged life of Jesus. He wrote detailed accounts of the events that occurred in the surrounding area. Yet not once, in all of his volumes of writings, do we read a single account of a Jesus "the Christ" Nor do we find any mention of Jesus in Seneca's (4? B.C.E. - 65 C.E.) writings, nor from the historian Pliny the Elder (23? - 79 C.E.).If, indeed, such a well known Jesus existed, as the gospels allege, don't you think it's reasonable that, at the very least, the fame of Jesus would not have reached the ears of ONE of these men? Amazingly, we have not one Jewish, Greek, or Roman writer mentioning ANYTHING found in the New Testament.

5,

The Gospels continue to mention incorrect things about the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him

Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it (Mark 11:12-14).

Matthew and Mark record that He was hungry and saw a fig tree in the distance that had leaves on it (Mark 11:13). Upon coming to the tree expecting to find something to eat, Jesus instead discovered that the fig tree had no fruit on it and cursed the tree saying, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” (Matthew 21:19;

Mark tells us that this wasn’t the season that anyone should be expecting figs So why would Jesus curse a fruit tree for not having fruit when it’s not even in season?

This looks like a reprehensible act against an innocent fig tree,

It wasn't the fig tree's fault that it wasn't fig season yet!

If Jesus was God or equal to God, he would have known that the tree would not bear fruit at that time

Jesus followed the Mosaic law and did not claim divinity.

According to the Bible, He was not omniscient

we can only conclude that the doctrine of Jesus’ divinity has no foundation in the scripture nor in the life and teachings of Jesus. This concept is an innovation in Christian doctrine.

I never did believe that one about the Prophet Jesus — peace be upon him — cursing a poor fig tree, for only being out of season. Had he no kindness, nor knowledge of horticulture? I do believe the Greeks loved to write all kinds or stories, legends, and sagas — which they were no doubt, very good at. Regrettably, one can observe this throughout the New Testament.

The book of Revelation is a very good example of this indeed, with Greek legend-type endings in final battles, apocalypse, and monster-like imagery. According to Jewish scholars, it was only about the fall of the Roman Empire, and its resulting economic and trade chaos, at that time.

Only some 'food for thought.'

People choose Islam because of its clear and simple belief in one God, a direct connection to the Creator without any helpers or priests, and a complete way of life that provides practical guidance for daily living, family, and inner peace.

Spiritual Beliefs

Strict Monotheism (Tawhid): Belief in one unique, indivisible God (Allah) who has no partners, equals, or children.
Direct Relationship: Praying straight to God with no need for saints, priests, or intermediaries.
Reverence for Prophets: Honoring all major biblical prophets, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, viewing Jesus as a great human prophet rather than the son of God.

Intellectual and Logical Clarity

Clear Scriptural Record: Believing that the Qur'an is preserved perfectly in its original Arabic text since the time of Prophet Muhammad.

Straightforward Logic: Finding that the theology avoids complex and confusing mysteries, making it simple to understand.

Purpose and Accountability: Providing clear answers about why humans exist, paired with the promise of divine justice on the Day of Judgment.

Practical Life and Community

A Complete System: Offering clear moral boundaries, rules for clean eating, ethical business, and family structures.

Sense of Belonging: Giving new members a strong, welcoming, and active global community (Ummah).

Inner Discipline: Utilizing daily prayers (Salah) and fasting (Ramadan) to create routine, mindfulness, and peace.

Intellectual and Moral Appeal

Logical Framework: An emphasis on reason, learning, and reflection as paths to strengthening faith.

Comprehensive Guidance: Clear moral, social, and family ethics that provide order and discipline in daily life.

Universal Equality: A strong emphasis on social justice, brotherhood, and racial equality across all communities.

Peace be with you yasoooo,

Thanks for sharing. Your posts carry more weight, when you say what inspires you about Islam, rather than what you are against in Christianity.

God says in the Qur’anO People of the Book, do not commit excesses in your religion, and do not say anything about God except the truth: the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was nothing more than a messenger of God, His word, directed to Mary and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His Messengers and do not speak of a ‘Trinity’– stop [this], that is better for you– God is only one God, He is far above having a son, everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Him and He is the best one to trust. [4:171]

Islam is not just another religion. It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:

“Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.” (Quran 112:1-4)[4]

God is One, from Adam to Muhammad, peace be upon them

But people have turned away from worshiping God according to their own whims

And all the prophets were sent, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, etc.

God (the Father) alone is the God of all humanity.
3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with[a] humans forever
Genesis 6:3
All the ancient prophets believed in one God, the Father; none of them said that Jesus was God or that he was crucified.

Jesus Christ will be questioned by the God almighty whether Jesus claims divinity or not. Jesus Christ is alive physically and his life extended for only he proves that he never claim divinity.

There is not a single unambiguous or unequivocal verse in the verse that Jesus claims divinity.

Jesus Christ is one of the human prophets like Adam, Abraham, Moses etc. Eating, sleeping, drinking, peeing, frightening, wondering, beginning, physical activities are not the qualification of God.

Christ said

3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

John 17:3

Christ also did not claim divinity and restricted divinity to God (the Father) alone
He did not say that he is a god or that the Holy Spirit is a god

On the Day of Resurrection, Christ will expel Christians who are considered him God or equal to God

22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Matthew 7:22-23

Islam is the final message to humanity
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), that he said: “By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one of this nation, Jew or Christian, hears of me then dies without having believed in that with which I was sent, but he will be one of the people of the Fire.” Narrated by Muslim (240).

Paul said those who oppose him should be castrated themselves...talking about the Jews (Judaizers). His resurrecting god-man savior was not the same as Jesus the rabbi, who called his followers to not only follow the Law, but do MORE than the Law required. Paul set the Law aside - Jesus didn't (at least, according to what's written about him in the earliest accounts).

Paul never met the historical Jesus

Paul didn't know much about Jesus actual life...never mentioned the virgin birth, or what he taught in much detail at all.

Paul often misquoted Jewish scripture in order to make his case, so he was not the "learned Pharisee" he claimed to be, as they would not have made those mistakes.

Paul's claimed he got his gospel directly from the Christ in a vision.
Jesus never mentions Paul coming along later to preach his gospel, saying that HE was the originator. Paul claims that HE is the source for his teaching, and that we should listen to him.

Paul used scripture to make points that were not in keeping with the original writings...look at two passages from his most anti-Semitic letter, Galatians.

Galatians 3:6 - Paul used Abraham as an example of being justified by faith, ignoring the centuries between him and Abraham, where obeying the Law was what justified God's people.

Galatians 3:10 - He quoted a curse that was originally from Deuteronomy 27:26. The passage cursed everyone who failed to keep ALL the requirements of the Law. It hammers home the need for the faithful to keep the Law and follow it in order to be obedient to God. Paul makes the opposite point, which is that those who follow the Law are cursed - the exact opposite of the original intent of the passage.

No wonder the Jesus Movement disagreed with him and fought him at every turn - in their minds, he was bastardizing the movement, and teaching that the Torah was not essential.

If Paul wanted to say that following Torah or the Law was not what was needed for believers, he could have just said that Jesus himself didn't follow it...but Jesus DID follow the Law, and Paul was not really concerned with the historical Jesus much. Jesus was a Jewish teacher (rabbi) who said that not one piece of the Law would pass away before it was fulfilled in the Kingdom of God (Matthew 5:18).
Jesus here states that he has not come to abolish God's law or the prophets, but to fulfill them.
