can someone pls help me find:
Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine
PDF or any other style online free. I'd prefer the 18th edition but don't mine earlier editions so long as it isn't that far back (since treatments evolve and change over time)

Last time I attempted to download from the net I ended up on some porno site, and I paid a fee as well so I was pretty annoyed and had to file a fraud report against the company, but they go by different names as to escape legal problems, at least that is what I understood from my bank when they refunded my money.. as such (I am not as net or computer savvy) as many here and would prefer to delegate the task to someone knowledgeable ...

Sister, though teachers recommend it, after giving it a try I felt it unconvincing...!!! I mean I did NOT feel like having a copy for myself. May it was just me. Other less comprehensive books do pretty good job as far as practical medicine is concerned. & for background basics I consult books on basics.

Like Guyton Physiology takes a full page to explain what could be explained in 10 lines, similarly this book goes into unnecessary story-telling...!!! again it might be just my "faulty" opinion.

I never purchased it or cecil, in fact but every time someone asks me for something they tell me to open Harrison to page such and such, then they ask me how I got through med school without it.. well i did so al7mdlillah, I don't really want to pay nearly $200 when I buy this one every couple of yrs or so:

but I figured if I can have it for free on PDF then it would be ideal.. I mean it is a classic like sabiston text book of surgery .. which I thought was excellent..

+ it could be password protected. Some evil people make us beggers go through the trouble of downloading huge files only to later find they are password protected. Especially on megaupload or rapidshare. I hope this one is not.

If I were you I'd download the book Br. Dagless left now!!!.. can't tell you just how valuable this is when free.. anyhow you can wait a few moments and I'll let you know if it downloaded completely..

Beautiful download.. I'd get it while it is hot.. they expire fast...God if I were computer savvy, I'd have been saved a fortune during med school :hiding::hiding::hiding:

Now, is there an anti-virus, something that makes my computer faster? with the past two downloads it has been soooooo incredibly slow, and it is a new computer.. just got it a few months ago...(am I pushing my luck) :embarrass:embarrass:embarrass

No i'm sorry, I did have huge collection of medical stuff, most of which I never read after downloading :), but to clear my computer of a thousand viruses I recently formated all my partitions.... Also it looks like u got the book already, uploaded by other members.

Yes al7mdlillah 3352 pages of painful mental enemas lol...
I hope you are able to upload it insha'Allah.. it is a beautiful copy not a blemish.. I feel really blessed, I didn't want to pay money for it, plus it is quite heavy to lug around..

Do you have any good antivirus that I can use to clean my computer now? :embarrass

I once used avast & also avg but Anti viruses always slow down my computer big time, so I rather format my computer every few months as needed, & reinstall operating system. This makes computer super fast & responsive... But everytime I have to make backup of my important files & drivers on CD or USB stick...
