Lol. Thanks brother. You a med student too?

No, but I play one on tv (jk).

How can I thank you.. reps insha'Allah..

After the amount of arguing we do I never thought I'd see the day :'(

Now, is there an anti-virus, something that makes my computer faster? with the past two downloads it has been soooooo incredibly slow, and it is a new computer.. just got it a few months ago...(am I pushing my luck) :embarrass:embarrass:embarrass

Did your downloads used to be fast? Download speed is usually dependant on your broadband connection/site you're getting it from.

I once used avast & also avg but Anti viruses always slow down my computer big time, so I rather format my computer every few months as needed, & reinstall operating system. This makes computer super fast & responsive... But everytime I have to make backup of my important files & drivers on CD or USB stick...

If you always save to usb then you should use something like Deep Freeze to save a system state that you know is safe. That way it won't matter too much because even if you get infected it'll be ok next boot... but to be without virus scanner for a few months is asking for trouble (especially if you do everything online (shopping, banking, etc.)).

In fact I didn't (couldn't) upload it to a USB because of the freezes.. and I do indeed do everything from the computer, shopping, banking, studying..:hmm:

Try doing a system defrag, and also doing spyware scan and virus scan you never know what's lurking around on your computer. also do a "diskcheck". a disk check will probably take a lenghty period of time but it fixes errors in the hard drive.

Do you know how to do all of the above or shall I give you instructions? what Windows are you running?

first, I'd like to thank you for the rep. and yes, pls give me instructions, I usually leave all computer stuff to my br. when he comes on the weekend and I feel bad because he never complains :embarrass but it would be nice to be self-sufficient :D

it's ok, sis,

well first I would do a disk check, this takes about 2 hours depending on the speed of your PC and you can't use your computer while it's doing it.

the tasks I mentioned are known as routine maintenance tasks and should be done every so often.

can I ask what Windows you are running so I can give you instructions.

I found a video showing how to do it on Windows Xp.

I am not that familiar with them.. we usually go by what the preceptors recommend or what we see others using, and supplement with review books..

but for all intents and purposes they are probably good.. why do you have any of them online? :p
