HARRY POTTER CRAZE

Just as a small sample, imagine a ten-year- old reading about:

1) The animal sacrifice of a cat.

2) Non-magicians like you and I (Muggles) are portrayed as dull, boring, cruel or useless.

3) Power is the ultimate moral choice, irrespective of goodorevil.

4) Blood sacrifices.

5) Cutting off the hand of a living person for a ritual.

6) Boiling what seems to be a baby or fetus alive in a cauldron.

7) Possible demon possession.

8) Werewolves & vampires.

9) Bringing an evil wizard back from the dead through the shedding of blood.

10) Astral project ortravel.

11) Casting spells and levitation .

12) Being able to shape-shift into an animal.

13) Crystal gazing or divination.

14) A hero (Harry) who tells lies, steals, breaks the rules, and cheats by copying another student's homework, (cheating is OK in wizard ethics).

15) Approval of astrology.

16) Being taught that people can exist without their souls.

17)Communion with the dead, dead souls living within us.

18) Harry takes mood-altering drugs (which are REAL herbs that are used by witches and shamans )

19) Use of the "Hand of Glory," a grisly occult artifact that is the severed. The hand is placed in a house to make everyone in the house fall into a spell.

20) Use of magic charms.

21) Belief that death is just the "next great adventure"

These are dangerous, false ideas, especially for a younger person. Little attempt is being made to keep these books from the hands of children even younger than ten! These are some of the subtle methods used by the protagonists of the New-World Order to mould and shape the minds of the future leaders when their minds are most impressionable. What is even more shocking is the way mainstream-media promotes such vile publications.

but do u really think tht people pay attention to what the actual moral or meaning of the story is ???

Don't like, don't watch !

My kids adored it, my wife and myself also ! I can't await to get the new movie already on DVD ! :D

LOLOLOLOL !! :D :D :D

The books are not 'vile', they are superb fantasy entertainment for all ages; millions upon millions have read them (and made their author a fortune in doing so) simply because they are FUN. Children have little trouble telling fantasy from reality and spotting 'false' ideas.. many of the traditional fairy tales (the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anserson, say) are just as 'bad', if not worse. I think it's great that this series has got so many kids to READ rather than play video games or stare at the TV. It's a habit that will stick with them for a lifetime.

:sl:

Half the things listed in the first post aren't even true.

it just harry potter, a story about a boy nothing worse than aladdin or lion king lol ,

there is no denying tht the book does programme the minds of young ones either conciously or unconciously. it imprints some hidden messages in their minds. a child growing up reading these books will come to accept the practices displayed in the book as normal and even become interested in witchcraft and the occult due to facination with harry porter. the character in the book 'harry' will be seen as a role model by these naive kids. and as a result of reading such books, people not just children can be lured into practicing withcraft by real wiccan sects with similarities with the witches in harry porter.

i personaly believe tht in the future, witchcraft will be a norm of society due to influences of books like these!!!!!!!!!!

:sl:

nevesirth, I must say that is an insult to the children that you would underestimate their intelligence so much.

:sl:

I don't read the books but I've made it a tradition to go to the theatres and watch the movie everytime it comes out (I've been doing this since '01) and it has a really good message for kids. I agree with sister Malaikh's comment though, it is an insult to children (especially my demographic) to underestimate their intelligence.

Totally agree ! My eldest son read his Harry Potter book, then go back to normal live. I never saw him trying to ride a broom ! :D

just wana say that the mods are gna close this thread, just as they close every harry potter thread..lately, theyve been closing like two a day...

just dont get too deep into it...

peace.

Our real adventure only begins after death, doesnt it?:^o)

I would just say that there is a lot more in the media today to lead our children to evil other than Harry Potter.

It is ur upbringing as a parent, and ur responsibility, to teach ur child to discriminate b/w good and bad.

For instance , once I drew the star of david, unknowingly, in front of a lebanese lady (who was christian) and she frieked out. She said, she didn't want to see or let her child see anything that is related to Israel.

My question is, what approach is better:

To keep ur child away from all evils till u die(and he/she getting exposed to it after u or being curious abt things u always hid from him)

or

To educate ur child abt good n bad.

I wonder why brother Muhammad is not stopping all this "Islamic" opinion from wannabe western and others?

salams

i read harry potter, i think the author has an incredible imagination..the things she can cum up wid! lol

the books are jus a fun read..and i wouldn't exactly try and practice anything that is in the books.

:w:

I guess the book can be given a rating, so as to protect it from being read by small minds of ages 10 or younger. 12 would be a good rating
