salaam ma alaykaam

near the endin it jus sounds too rappy, but o well

when he left me, i promised i wouldnt shed a tear,
i remember his last words, with his noor he said "take care"
they tell me not to be sad, he has gone to do good
hes gona make us happy, get back our hood
which has been stained with blood
and over it our eyes have caused many a flood

but its been so long now, my land is still stained
my streets look like blood has rained
they told me he has probably died
but then they tell me martyrs dont die, so they all lied

so i still await, im here sittin all alone
waitin in the dark, next to the phone
waitin for his special ringtone
tellin me he is comin home

oh: subhanAllah!

We asked Abdullah (i.e. Ibn Masud) about this verse:

"003.169 Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay,
they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord;"
Al-Qur'an, 003.169 (Aal-E-Imran [The Family of Imran])

He said: We asked about that and the Prophet (pbuh) said: Their souls are in the insides of green birds having lanterns suspended from the Throne, roaming freely in Paradise where they please, then taking shelter in those lanterns. So their Lord cast a glance at them (*1) and said: Do you wish for anything? They said: What shall we wish for when we roam freely in Paradise where we please? And thus did He do to them three times. When they say that they would not be spared from being asked [again], they said: O Lord, we would like for You to put back our souls into our bodies so that we might fight for Your sake once again. And when He saw that they were not in need of anything they were let be.
(*) i.e. at those who had been killed in the cause of Allah.

It was related by Muslim (also by at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah).
