It sprang originally from my study of most religions, and general spiritual discontent.

Also, when can I post normally, or when are posts approved? I made a post last night and it said it would be up for approval, and nothing has happened.

approval depends on the section, not all sections require approval.. if the mods are too slow, you may PM one of them and let them know that you have a thread waiting..
be that as it may, I am not sure you can start new threads until you are a full member (don't quote me on that) but we have had a serious porn/troll problem and the members can only hope that the mods/admin. keep this as a safe harbor, since we have many very young members frequenting this forum as well...
